When im driving the car seems like its power comes and goes it runs but lurches and looses power cant go very fast what can this be
Try change fuel filter ,air filter ,spark plugs and cables

Hmmm, as to on-again, off-again engine power, it may be the electrical connector that runs from the electronic control unit. Read this diagnostic article, as it seems similar to your situation:

sounds like you have some bad injectors. if your smelling fuel it sound like one of them are stuck open. that would cause it to run rough. i think the injectors are like 35 each i would put them in and run a fuel system cleaner and put a new fuel filter when you do all that.. if you do it yourself it should run you about 180 to 200. Its not that hard to do. If a shop was to do it it could cost up to 500

Check all under hood vacuum hoses. If it has over 90,000 miles since the spark plugs and wires were changed, replace them.

If the transmission is not hurt, it may just be a simple fix by replacing the reverse solenoid. The bad news is that it's in the valve body in the transmission, if there is an Auto Zone around your area, have them scan the cart for any DTC codes and hope that there is a code in the history that relates to the transmission issue. Auto Zone scan free of charge and if there is a transmission code, that would help address the transmission issue and if it's just a reverse solenoid. That's good news, since it cost just a little more then a transmission oil and filter change. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running 100% again soon.

how long have you had the car it could be like jose said but it could be something else like o2 senors simple fact is every car i haved work on i ask have you done a tune up they say yes then ask what is a tune up to you they say same thing JOSE said but non of them ever said changed o2 senors
