How do you adjust pressure of wiper blade to made contact during full sweep.
SOURCE: 1996 volvo 960 windshield wipers stalling out
Took the car to a local garage and the tech found a loose connecting rod on the gear box of the windshield wipers.
The tech was very nice and repaired the wipers and didn't charge for the repair.
The tech has made a young lady very happy and has gotten him a new customer for her future auto repairs.
This is so refreshing to find a auto repair shop that shows good will and does not take advantage of a customer.
Thanks to you and your web site for your postings and concern.
SOURCE: 1987 Volvo wiper cable came off egg shaped pulley on driver side.
And you thought pulling the heater box was bad. I think you're going to need to loosen the arm at the motor to gain some room to allow the cable to be put back on.

Try this: With ignition on, turn on wiper switch. When wiper arm gets to point where blade does not touch screen, turn off ignition switch so that wipers do not return to park position. It may take a few goes to stop arm in the right position so repeat process until it is in the best position. Check main wiper arm and bend slightly towards windscreen so that blade touches screen and there is some spring pressure from the arm to keep blade on screen. Also check that there is no interference between main arm and the section which supports the rubber blade. If you get blade chatter as the arm sweeps, twist the end of the main arm slightly in the opposite direction to the movement that produces the chatter. It may take a bit of trial and error to get it all right.

Fig. 2: Mount the wiper blade/arm as shown-1994-96 Pick-ups
When installing the arms, the at-rest position of the blades
should be determined before pushing the arm onto the pivot. For Dakota
trucks, the tip of the driver's side blade should be 0.51-2.63 in.
(13-67mm) above the cowl panel and the passenger's side blade should be
0.94-3.06 in. (24-78mm) above the cowl panel. For 1989-93 Pick-ups and
Ramchargers, the driver's side blade should be 1.84 in. (47mm) above the
windshield weatherstripping at the heel of the blade; the passenger's
side blade should be 2.24 in. (57mm) above the weatherstripping. For
1994-96 Pick-ups, the wiper motor must be in the PARK position and the
wiper blade should be about 0.85 in. (22mm) from the upper edge of the
black-out areas at the base of the windshield.
Hope this helps to solve it.
