Is there a way to reset the check engine light on my 97 disco? I replaced the o2 sensor but don;t want to spend the money to go to dealer to reset. can i do this myself somehow?

First off, you never have to set foot in a
dealership in your entire lifetime

The O2 Sensor, I hope you changed
yourself. That was a 10 min job

Disconnect the battery and see if the code clears

Some O2 codes clear when the new sensor is installed

The car radio is displaying security.

If I recall from my 98 Disco 1, if you don't have the security code from the owners manual then you have to leave the motor turned on constantly for something like one hour to override the security block and code. I learned this the hard way and then finally found the codes hidden away in the glovebox. Initially I drove around for over an hour (I think it was) with the radio power on and it finally came back on.

Radio code

I had a new cd player fitted to my 97 discovery and that did. Raido codes are free, providing you can prove ownership. Just visit a main landrover dealer, they got mine in about 10 minites.
