New symbol on dashboard

Vehicle: 2007 Mercury Mariner
Location: New York

The other day there was this new symbol on my dashboard, looks like an exclamation mark between a parathesis ( ! ) It was orange... I've never seen this on my dashboard before? Is it a tire gauge because of the cold weather?

It's a low tire pressure warning light. Make sure the tires are properly inflated.

Yellow wrench in mercury mariner hybrid

The Yellow Wrench is what ford calls a MIL Lamp

That technology shouldn't be new to you or what you
do next

OBD2 Systems have been on all vehicles since 1996

All veh are the same

Any dash light you check for codes with a day or so,if
you want to know what the issues might be, then google the codes

I would just go to a repair shop immediately at any check light
being on.

You shurely know that a dealer is Never needed to work on any
vehcile & you also should know they charge more,a good reason
not to be there even with a new a car unless you there for free
warranttee work only

Yes you will pay $100 every time the dash light comes on
These shop have big investment in test equip

Finding the issuse if sometimes the entire job,the fix is not
always a big deal

Very bad advice for a dealer to tell you to continue to drive
a vehicle when they have no idea what is wrong.

You need those codes day one to determine if you should use it

Buy yourself a $60 code reader & google the codes on any
& all your vehicles so you can decide if you should be using it
at all.
