JAguar door handles

I can lift the handle but nothing happens, and now even the door won't open when you try from the inside

The door handle will not open the drivers door from the inside at times. However, should I use the key remote, I'll be able to unlock the door first. Only then I will be able to egress the vehicle. My biggest concern is in case of an emergency I'm "toast"

The door handle on the inside won't work, but it can still open from the outside handle.

Use a spray lubricant like WD-40 on the latching mechanism in the door. Soak the parts good, and continue to open, and close the door working in the lubricant. You will find that your door handle mechanism comes back.

Look to see if your rubber seal is sticking out. Mine does this and sometimes I need to push against the door while lifting the handle to open it.

I have a 2002 Jaguar X-Type that does the same thing. You pull the door handle and nothing...I finally mastered it. In my case, I figured out that it has something to do with the seal, and it gets and it mostly happens when it rains. I kinda lift the handle and push in and pull all in one brief motion.

2002 Jaguar X type does the same thing. You can use a lubricant like wd-40 to help fix it. In the mean time if you lift the handle and simultaneously push the top right of the door (just above the window), it frees up from the hink and you have easy access.

hi the problem your having is going to be that on the inside of the door their is a metal bar that connects from the outer handle to the lock and the same for the inner handle, what you need to do is remove the door panel by taking out all the screws holding it on the door and the pull it off the plastic clips holding it on then once its off check if this bar has fallen off or broke, replace if needed.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

97 Mercury Mountaineer driver side door won't open. Outside handle flops around; inside handle won't open door

Try a slim jim first, down the side of the window. Or AAA or locksmith. If no luck, remove the seat first. Find the screws and bolts around the door handle and arm rest. Most Ford's have screws around the outer side of the panel. I don't believe your's does. The panel lifts or pops off. Once the panel is off, you can reach down and open the door. Just a note. I have done some to where the panel came out in pieces.

I cannot open my passenger door from the outside even though it is unlocked. I lift the handle but nothing happens. I can only open the passenger door from the inside.

The outside door handle operation rod has either fallen off or the outside handle is broken, you will need to remove it to find out which one, you will have to remove the interior door panel to access it. Hope this helps, let me know

Driverside inside door won,t open the dr or even unlock the drs handle is pulled to release?

more likely the door handle mechanism is either broken or came undone, the only way to get to it and see what broken or came off is to remove the door cover panel, its not easy job and its time consuming if not mechanical incline although it something fairly simple to fix and repair. you may just have to replace inner door handle if it broken off from the linkage.

Left door

don't know about your trunk...
but for the passenger door, it sounds like the linkage connecting to the outer handle is broken...on the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge.

1994 Jag xj6 car door will not open from the outside

The door latch sometime wears out they made it out of plastic. I have the same problem and the latch is no good. These cars are made so cheaply. They charge an arm and a leg for them even the parts to replace the defective parts. Jags are poorly designed sorry but you may need a new latch

JAguar door handles

You have something broke or not working inside the door. You have a huge problem. You will need to remove the door panel with it closed which is going to be hard to do. Once you can get into the inside of the door you will be able to inspect the linkage and figure what is the real problem inside. The door lock assembly will never work correctly till you find out if a clip broke and you can't know that till looking inside

2003 toyota sienna lift door knob broken. how to open the ldoor

The handle that broke had a little 'finger' that actuated the release mechanism. The only way to open the back hatch is to remove the inner panel and push on the release mechanism.

Once off, you can either a) buy a replacement handle (expensive) or b) do what I did and simply make a piece of L-shaped metal to lever the release mechanism from the outside.

If your handle is completely off of the door you can look up under the little plastic cover (that hides the handle) and see the slot on the right side that the release handle inserts into. You need to stick the lever into that slot, and angle it down about 30 degrees from horizontal to get under the latch mechanism, which unlocks the hatch if you pry it upwards.
