2006 Audi A4 - I have an ECU code P0299 -002 lower limit exceeded

The car runs fine but check engine light comes on after driving for about 60 miles. Is the turbo cut off valve bad? or is it somethine else. Any suggestions.

Not sure, turbo was change out at Audi dealer just before Thanksgiving. The car runs fine, maybe just a bad sensor or air leak somewhere. Just hate to take it back to the dealer.

The car runs ok after the light came on. If you extremely accelerate the car feels slightly sluggish. Otherwise the car runs fine, good gas mileage, no issues. The code was check by Volkswagon Tech and reset but came back on.

Why P0299 fault code is related to your turbocharger boost pressure that can cause low engine power. Shown also are OBD2 codes and their general meaning below.

    P0299 Engine Turbo-Supercharger Boost

This code pertains to the turbo housing resonator which makes the turbo quiet. Normally, the part is broken into to 2 parts which are glued together. This is the source of the problem, the glue usually fails and this affects the turbo pressure which is usually needed in going uphill. The part can be bought from the dealer or check your after market supplier of this turbo model. On some European cars, this P0299 fault code can also mean that the waste gate solenoid actuator is defective. As such, it could cause turbo inactivity causing the engine to loose power. To check, test the wirings of the turbo waste gate solenoid and the vacuum supply to the actuator. If OK, the most common fix is to replace the waste gate solenoid.

    Turbo Boost Pressure:

The way turbo boost pressure works, if the turbine housing has small apertures (passage ways), it will make the turbo work at lower engine speeds. However, it can cause restriction to the exhaust gasses flow at higher engine RPM. If the compressor assembly is too big in relation to the turbine, it could cause stalling, but if it is too small, it could cause turbo over-speeding and will self destruct. In this sort of set-up, the system is controlled by the engine management system. Boost is generated by increase of exhaust pressure that is NOT going into the engine. Usually, this boost pressure is detected by an air flow sensor when a signal is then sent to the ECU (engine computer) which regulates boost pressure.

NOTE: In order to ensure that a high boost pressure is developed even at low engine speeds, the turbine and compressor sizes would have to be made smaller as much as possible.

In order for the wastegate to work, the compressor reference port must be hooked up to the compressor side of the turbo because the vacuum line attachment limits the set spring pressure. This in essence, will build unlimited boost pressure until your engine is destroyed. For more detailed information about turbo boost pressure, please contact ATS. good luck buddy happy holiday.

My car won't accelerate seems there is no pressure its Audi A4 2006

Most of the time when an epc light comes on and you have no throttle response it's best to connect it to a bag-com but if you don't have one have the computer scanned for a check engine code remember just because there's no check engine light on doesn't mean the ecu doesn't have on in memory.. So if you do have a code like p1639 then you have a bad accelerator peddle

Audi A4 2006 2.0 Turbo Quattro, with 13000 miles. Problem: When warmed up, check engine light comes on and a loud squeal is heard. Tapers off when gas is pressed. Power remains OK. Air control system...

Hi,
the squeal is caused by a belt, not tensioned correctly ,I would check the cambelt tension first and then the serpentine belt,if not obvious you need to take to a Audi trained garage. If you plug in a code reader it will help point you in the right direction by the fault code.

2003 Audi A4 1.8T Check Engine light on

The CEL means there is a Diagnostic Fault Code stored in the Engine Control Unit. There are 1000's of DTC's, so you will need to have it read by a Code Reader. Auto Parts stores like Auto Zone, Pep Boys, perhaps even Advanced Auto often will read the code for you; but by law they cannot clear the codes. Many codes do not cause drivability problems, severe ones will trigger the ECU to run in a Limp Mode, which would require repair work before any trip longer than a few miles. Hope this is helpful.

When i start my car it just cuts off again this happens a few times then works fine, also after a few miles of driving the abs warning light comes on my car is an N reg audi A4 automatic 1.8

Hi, I had the same problem. it is the imoboliser, it reads a code in your key while starting. you need to get the code in the key reprogramed. if that wont work you will need to get a new ignition barrel. Audi dealer will reprogram your key.

2002 AUDI A4 OIL LIGHT COMES ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

The code system too lean, is caused by the bank 1 02 sensor, as far as the oil light coming on with oil ok,I would say the oil sending unit. Have those checked or replaced. Without testing this and that, it's hard to say what's causing it.
