I agree, these vehicles have a problem with the blend doors and since the accuators hit the door when it opens and closes, it breaks the doors. and it's a huge job to replace them.

SOURCE: the ac only blows warm air, have recharged it with freon but it only cools minutes before blowing warm again, could find no leaks

There are special cans of R-134A with dye in them for detecting leaks. Most leaks occur around the fittings near the compressor. Recharge the system with the leak detector can or R-134A. There are also cans of R-134A with an additive to stop leaks. I would use these products to either detect your leak or to stop it. Best of luck.

SOURCE: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo ac not cooling

My 1999 limited does this. When i bought it off the guy he said that its because of some flap down by the passengers left foot. In mine the passenger air barely even blows because of this.

SOURCE: 2001 Jeep Cherokee - A/C stopped blowing cold air

the cost depends on what is leaking, if it is the compressor you are looking at about $1000

a low freon charge would have made the system weak and lower charge will shut the system off to prevent compressor damage

2005 jeep grand cherokee ac blows cold only out drivers vent. rest of vents are just blowing air. freon is full. no dual air or auto temp.

THE ELECTRIC ACTUATOR MOTOR NOT WORKING. NOT ALLOWING AIR DOOR TO OPEN SO THE AC AIR CAN CIRCULATE THROUGH THE VENTS.

If you are loosing the freon you do have a leak.Your system will have to have a special dye shot into the system and then you need special glasses to see the dye.Ask a AC repair shop what they charge.
