It turns on fine and runs great but when i put it in drive and accelerate pass 2200 rpms or 30mph it makes a roaring sound and stalls on me. it sounds like it has a vacuum leak somewhere.

Sonds like the fan to me. Yes, those are available separately. Water pump is internal inside of the timing cover and those are pretty bullet proof. Fan is most likely NG. Not that common. I have replaced only 1 in 12 years with Nissan.

have you tried checking the air flow meter? we had the same problem with our 2000 maxima

Try leaving your cell phone at home and driving around. Cell phones and other devices many times will try using speaker wires as an extension of their antennae which is RF interference and therefore the sound of this crackling can go through your speaker system. This can happen at home or in a car.

No problems with EGR valves/system on this model car. Its located under the throttle body. Your valve is electronically controled by the ECM/Computer. Pretty bullet proof setup. What is the actual code number that autozone gave you?? Let me know the code number and will take it from there.

Idle air control valves short out all the time on these models. You can ohm the motor to check it, but the down side to a shorted iac valve is that it shorts out the ecm if not repaired quickly. when the valve shorts, 12 volts is supplied directly to the ecm and burns the circuit board. The other option is the air flow meter, this is also a very common problem but typically a p0171/p0174 would be stored in self diag.
