It has approximately 107,000 miles and has had no prior problems. Recently when driving as I press on the brake and turn I hear a noise in the front end that sounds like clicking. It is rather loud and only occurs when I press the brake and turn the wheel. It happens very intermittently and I never know when. Any ideas?

Have the front brake pads checked for wear and also have the CV joints checked.

the first thing i would check is the sway bar bushings they usualy go first. you have a bushing out somwhere. ive replace many struts because people have requested new struts and when we install them they come back and complain that the clunk is still there and all it needed was a bushing kit for $20
hope this helps

It cold be both the fuel pump or crankshaft sensor will cause this problem. A shop should be able to use a scope and check the square wave pattern on the sensor to determine if it is good or not.

I have a 2007 Mitsubishi outlander my steering is loose & my front wheel driver side is making whistling sound while driving ! Whats wrong ?

Possibly a bad wheel hub assembly. Take it to a repair shop asap. If this is the case it is very dangerous to drive.

2003 Mitsubishi Outlander Grating Noise, Front Struts?

It very well could be the strut.
smaller chance could be the CV axle.
Also have the splash guards/heat shields checked to make sure they are all tight in place.

4wd light keeps flashing on 2003 mitsubishi challenger

Hi Adstew,
the front diff has a sensor telling the control unit it when it is engaged (or not). It probably is, and it won't disengage. or the sensor is stuck. The selector lever tells the control unit you want 2WD but the sensor thinks the front axle is engaged. So it flashes.
When shifting to 2WD, normally the front axle will come free after a load change or a bit of turning the steering from side to side, but it sometimes happens that it gets stuck. You can find out:
lift the car free off ground, then select drive forward in 2WD. If the front wheels do not turn, then the sensor may be faulty or stuck. if the front wheels turn in 2WD mode, the diff is stuck and the sensor tells you so. Same or similar problem can happen with the center diff, by the way, on pajero/montero, etc.
