Ignition and steering locked.1990Saab turbo Hatchback auto

I had been driving my Saab with no problem,Got into the car this afternoon and the key wont turn and then I moved the steering wheel and that is locked now.I have tried for hours to move the steering wheel at the same time as trying to turn ignition to no avail. I have the same problem in a 1995 Saab 900 SE, though my steering wheel is not locked. Car was fine last night, but when did errands around town. Eighteen hours later, I can't turn the key. What's up with that?

Your ignition lock probably has sticky pin inside of tumbler.
Try spraying some WD40 or PB Blast into the key cylinder.

Lost only key for Saab 93 2004aero 2litre turbo 210 bhp was quoted silly money to fix. Got used key ignition and cim unit from scrap car and swopped to mine remote opens closes doors etc but now have...

The doors work on a different system to the ignition. The doors will unlock but the ignition key immobiliser is specific to each car. That means the car won't recognise the key. Replacing the lost key would have been the easiest fix even though it costs a lot. All you need is the vehicle details for your car. I was quoted Ā£200 for a replacement Vauxhall key. Cheaper than replacing steering columns and associated electronics.
Your only other option is to take it to a Saab Dealer/specialist and pay the 'silly money' for them to reset and link the replacement scrap car key to your car.

Key stuck in Accessory position

If you are worried about battery drain then I would disconnect the battery while you are at work so no one can steal your car and this will prevent it from going dead until you get the issue fixed.

I would also make sure the vehicle is all the way in park, smark it into park a few times really good. Some vehicles require that they be in park for the key to be released from the ignition and your vehicle is older and the shifter may be a little worn and it might not be releasing the key properly.

It doesn't sound as if your ignition switch if locked up since it will rotate to all settings. You can also try moving the steering wheel from left to right while you try to pull the key out in the locked position. Ultimately you will need to repair either the lock r shifter mechanism.

ok what you need to do is look under the hood for the powersteering pump when you find it check the fluid level it may be a bit low. if that is not the problem you may need a new powersteering pump. genraly if it was the rack and pinion you would have troubles steering at all times \

Can't get the key out of a 99 saab 9-5

This may or may not work,it worked on a different car. Try shaking the steering wheel back and forth while pulling on key, or turning ignition. Hope it helps.

1985 saab wont start the key will not even turn

If the key won't turn it sounds like a problem with the reverse gear locking device. You'll need to remove the gearlever/ignition housing and replace or reset the 3 gears inside. If the ignition barrel is faulty you'll still need to remove the assembly to get it out.
