My 97 Blazer won't go into 4hi. When I bought it it went into 4hi just fine but the next day it wouldn't get out of 4hi. Eventually after pushing the buttons it switched to 2hi but now it won't go back into 4hi but when I push the buttonit blinks but doesn't switch in and stays in 2. Its starting to snow alot now and I really want my 4hi back, so any suggestion will help. Thanks
Try disconnecting your battery for 30 min. After reconnecting battery turn ignition back and forth 7 times. This is a Chevy problem known as logic lock. this is engaged to let you know that there may be a bigger problem at hand and the computer wants you to get it looked at.

Anchorage, AK. Conditions-snow and icy roads. 1997 Suburban. Light is flashing on the 4 Hi selector. Lost 4x4 function. Thought it was actuator (plunger) switch, so replace with same. ($124.00) (heat activated) Light still flashes, and still no 4 x4. This all came about after backing out of driveway. No sudden change or event before this happened. Usually leave 4 Hi engaged for most of winter, except if driving on highway and it is in good condition. What it next step???
I have the same thing going on.Push the 4x4hi or lo and you can hear it switch at the transfer case but still no 4x4 at the wheels.
I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer, I used the 4wd about a year ago and have had no need for it sense. It worked back then but will not go in gear. I push the buttons for both 2hi and 4 hi but the light just flashes. I hear the transfer case shift but still no 4 wd. I tried what the manual said about push the 4 hi and while the light is flashing put transmission in park and that should reset the transfer case switch ut it didn't work.
