Which sensor is used to calculate load on the 1998 Acura 3.5 RL

I have a 1998 Acura 3.5 RL which I have just put a new/used engine into. It badly carbon fouls the spark plugs within seconds although it is in closed loop. My scanner shows a calculated load of 62% - 65% at idle. TPS is reading only 11.4% which is correct. What sensor is Acura using to calculate the load on the 3.5 RL? I am assuming I have a vacuum routing problem.

Thank you Dennis. I realize that more then just one sensor is used in the calculation of load. However this car is not moving, it iis in park idling and reading 65% load with only 11.4% throttle angle, 12 degrees of initial timing 115 degrees intake air temp, 180 degrees coolant temp. With proper reference , signal and ground to the TPS. And will carbon foul the plugs in seconds (more of soot then carbon) This signafies an extremely rich condition although a lot of air must be entering the cylinders in order to cause the soot to accumalate. So although you are correct, I'm wondering which of the normal load sensors is most likely to cause the excessive load calculation under the idle situation. I am guessing the MAP sensor or is Acura using a combination of MAP BARO or a Pressure differential sensor? The vehicle is not mine I have been asked to do the diagnostic. Already I found transmission vent was plugged and incorrectly routed, power steering was perculating, and fuel pressure regulator was routed through the EGR transducer, among other problems. Am I correct or can you think of another scenario. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Mileage?
5 (2.5) or 6 (3.2) cylinder?

On 5 change wires and distributor cap and rotor button. Use Borg Warner wires, they are low resistance.

Use NGK iridium plugs.

Use injector cleaner.

Replace fuel filter.

Steps in exchanging the thermostat on a 2003 Acura RL

no engine told, and is a 100% engine question
no country told making the engine guess 10x more easy or no VIN and 8th digit is engine code.
3.5L RL? V6 (seen in USA?)
the steps are the same on all cars but 1,
the gain access step.
also 20 year old coolant is no good at all
  1. drain all coolant
  2. gain access to STAT
Disconnect any sensors or switches that may interfere with the removal of the thermostat from the housing.
  3. remove STAT housing hose.
  4. remove STAT housing, (unbolts)
  5. remove STAT
  6. put in new STAT , not a backwards and bleed hole must be upward side. with new SEAL
  7. bolt it down. Hose back on.
  8. Rad cap off
  9. fill up coolant 50%AF (i uses Prestone ALL CAR)
  10. burp out all air
  11. cap back
  12. drain out side tank and refill 1/2 way with 50%$AF
done

1998 Acura el1.6,wont crank when engine is hot

Distributer has nothing to do with cranking. Sounds like starter, tap on starter while someone holds key in start position. Make sure your battery cables are good, too.

2000 acura 3.5 rl collant temperature sensor

If the question on the 2000 acura is where to find the sensor, you have to take the silver acura plate off (3 screws) and it sits on top next to the big radiator hose. Easy to get to, should cost around $40. But if your temperature gauge on the dash is not moving it's probably the thermostat.

My acura rl 3.5 2005 don't start, but the batery is good and all accesories work!

Hmm, sounds to me like a bad starter. If you can see it and get at it easy enough, I would make sure the connections on it are tight.

Then useing a test light, test the smaller lead for power while someone tries cranking it over.

If it has power at the terminal then you need a new starter.

Where is the Misfire sensor located on an 2002 Acura RL?

There is no "misfire" sensor.

The computer calculates misfires based on the known RPM of the engine and how long it should take for the crank sensor to produce its signal after a cylinder fires. If it is slower than expected the computer recognizes that the cylinder did not fire and if severe enough finally turns on the check engine light and/or causes it to flash.

My 98 acura RL, does not accelarate when i press the accelarator, at times, it takes time for the engine to crank after i drove it for sometime

how it seems that the engine is lossings fuel pressure i would get a fuel pressure check done and also change the fuel filter if that doesn't help you might have a bad sensor. is the check engine light on? if so then i would get it scanned and see what that pulls up.
