2003 ford expedition not open with key remote or butten on door

Power locks will not work with keyless entry - key fob or the door lock switch on the drivers door ? Or any door lock switch ? Is this what your trying to say ?

The keyless entry system consists of the following components:
  • vehicle security module
  • keyless entry keypad
  • remote transmitter
The door locks are controlled by the vehicle security module.

Power Lock
The power lock/unlock feature requests all of the vehicle doors, including the liftgate, be locked or unlocked upon a customer request from any interior door lock switch in the vehicle. The power door locking system functions independently of ignition status or vehicle speed. When the vehicle security module receives an unlock/lock command from any door lock control switch, the vehicle security module will activate relays internal to the module to supply the correct power and grounds for the door lock actuators.

Remote Transmitter Lock/Unlock Control - Unlock
The remote control feature provides lock/unlock functions independently of ignition status, vehicle speed or transmission position. The remote control feature provides a two-step process for unlocking the doors. Upon receipt of the first requests for unlocking the doors, the remote control feature requests the vehicle security module to unlock the driver door only. If another unlock request is received within three seconds of the first, the remote control feature will request that all doors be unlocked.

Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

  1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  1. If the diagnostic tool does not power up, refer to the diagnostic tool manual.
  1. Carry out the diagnostic tool data link test. If the diagnostic tool responds with:
    • SCP, UBP or ISO; all elctrconic control unitw, no response/not equipped, refer to Section 418-00 .
    • No response, not equipped for vehicle security module, refer to Section 419-10 .
    • System passed, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs, and carry out the self-test diagnostics for the vehicle security module.
  1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the Vehicle Security Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
  1. If DTCs are retrieved that are not found in the following Vehicle Security Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index, refer to the Master Vehicle Security Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index in Section 419-10 .
  1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Installed ignition on 2003 sunfire, how do i reset security system

did you reuse the same pass lock sensor and key lock tumbler? if so the security system shouldn't have to be reset. if you replaced either lock cylinder or pass lock sensor then you have to turn the key to the start position and then to the run position and leave the key on for about ten minutes and wait for the security light to stop flashing. once the light stops flashing do the same process again. it may take up to three times to get the key code encrypted into the BCM. on the third time after the light stops flashing the car should start, if not then you may have another problem.

DOES THE PASS KEY II THEFT SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE DISENGAGED THROUGH THE RADIO THEFT 4 CODE SYSTEM TO RESTORE THE FUEL SYSTEM IN 1995 OLDSMOBIL88 LSS

The Passkey anti theft system and the radio theft deterrent system are completely separate systems, so the answer is no the radio code does nothing to the Passkey. Passkey is a passive system, that is to say it disarms itself and arms itself just by inserting or removing the key from the ignition and locking the door of the car either with the key or the remote. If the Passkey is the source of any problem and is not working correctly then the Security light should be flashing in the dash to indicate a problem. The most common issue with the Passkey 1 and 2 is that the reader located in the ignition switch lock cylinder goes bad, this locks out the fuel pump and the engine will not start. The system can be bypassed but it is not easy.

Tips: ā€¢ Do not set a code that uses five of the same number. ā€¢ Do not use five numbers in sequential order. ā€¢ The factory set code will work even if you have set your own personal code. ā€¢ If you set a personal code and store it over an existing personal code it will erase that personal code only. Erasing personal code 1. Enter the factory set 5-digit code. 2. Press and hold the 1 ā€¢ 2 for two seconds and release; this must be done within five seconds of completing step 1. 3. I don't have a manual for my 2004 lincoln Avaitor but would like to know how I can change the code on the drives door key pad

KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM With the keyless entry keypad, you can: • lock or unlock the vehicle doors without using the key. Your vehicle has a factory set 5 digit code that operates the keyless entry system. You can also program your own 5 digit personal entry code. The factory-set code is located: • on the owner's wallet card in the glove compartment • or at your dealer. When pressing the controls on the keyless entry keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation. This system will disable the power door lock controls. These will not work until the vehicle is disarmed. Programming your own personal entry code To program your own code: 5. Enter factory set code (keypad will illuminate when pressed). 6. Press 1/2 control within five seconds of step 1. 7. Enter your personal 5 digit code. Enter each digit within five seconds of previous one. 8. After the code is entered, the locks will cycle, confirming that the new code has been set. Do not set a code that includes five of the same number or presents them in sequential order. Thieves can easily figure out these types of codes. Your personal code does not replace the permanent code that the dealership gave you. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. If a second personal code is entered, the module will erase the first personal code in favor of the new code. Locks and Security 149 Locks and Security If you wish to erase your personal code, use the following instructions: 1. Enter factory set code. 2. Press 1/2 control and release. The system will now only respond to the factory set code. Anti-scan feature The anti-scan feature prevents repeated attempts at arriving at a valid key code. The keyless entry pad is disabled for 1 minute after 7 unsuccessful attempts (35 consecutive button presses) at entering a valid key code. The keypad will flash during this 1 minute mode. However, the 7/8 and 9/0 controls will still lock the vehicle. Anti-scan will be turned off after: • one minute of keypad inactivity. • the remote entry transmitter UNLOCK button is pressed. • the ignition is turned to the ON position. Unlocking the doors with the keyless entry system To unlock the driver door, enter either the factory set code or the personal code (each digit must be pressed within five seconds of the prior digit). The interior lamps will also illuminate. To unlock all doors, enter the factory set code or personal code (driver door unlocks) and press the 3/4 control within five seconds. Locking the doors with the keyless entry system It is not necessary to enter the factory or personal code prior to locking all doors. To lock the doors: • with the driver's door closed, press the 7/8 control and the 9/0 control at the same time.

I got out fo the car and hit the door lock, and the same time I open the back door. Now the car will not start

Check the inertia switch. It is usually in the trunk and has a reset button you press and hold for 3 seconds.

If that does not work and you have a keypad for the entrance system you may need to enter the code instead of using the keyless remote. You may have bothered the security system although this is not suppose to happen.

Saturn LS1 2000 wants to start but won't

The fab key activates the security system in the car, the ignition pass lock may need to be reset to your ignition key's. It Takes about 30 min to do. Try resetting the pass lock to read your ignition keys. 30-Minute Learn Procedure 1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. 2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON; the vehicle will not start. 3. Observe the SECURITY tell tale light. After approximately 10 minutes, the light will turn OFF. 4. Turn OFF the ignition switch, and wait 5 seconds. 5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 - two more times - for a total of 3 cycles of 10 minutes. 3x10 = 30 minutes. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch turn from OFF to CRANK. Important: Turn the Ignition Switch OFF. The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle. 6. Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password. 7. With a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles. Without a scan tool you may have momentary starter interruptions while history clears itself. Good luck and hope this helps. The ignition keys has a resistor value for the ignition to read and after a few years the resistance may change and the Pass Lock has a had time reading it's value so you have to reset the pass lock to read the keys again.
