Hi, my brother's Eagle Talon started blowing black smoke out of the back and he took it to a Chrysler mechanic. Mechanic said that the turbo was done and needed to be replaced. Mechanic was his girlfriend's relative. He told my brother that his co-worker would buy the car for $1000 and take the problem off his hands.
Obviously, my bro didn't fall for that.
How much would it cost (about) to fix the turbo? Can he buy a turbo that just bolts on that would replace what he has or does he have to fix the orginal?
What are his options to repair and get his sweet car back on the road without the black smoke?
Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
