What causing a 4r70w to hard shift into drive at 3000 rpm

It goes into reverse with no problem put it into drive and nothing, when you get it up to 3000 rpm it will engage realy hard no slipping and bark the tires. once in gear itr will change gears with no problem and no slipping. if you stop at a light or rpms get below 900-1100 rpm it will drop out of gear and you have to get it to 3000 rpm again.i checked the trans line to and from the trans to check for blockage and fount known. dont know exact line pressure, but in neutral the pressure is enough to blow my finger off the line. never seen nothing like this

SOURCE: Just left the dealership with

Hi,

The emission light is on because the computer senses a problem with your engine and/or sensors. It is alerting you that there is an emission problem with your vehicle. You will need to get the "Codes" from the computer. They will tell you what is wrong. Any auto parts store will get the codes from your vehicle for free. Get the codes and post them on this page. We can diagnose the problem with the codes to help you fix it.

You have to drive the Sable over to the store. They will plug in a scan tool that connects to a port under the drivers side of the dash. It will test the system for codes and they will write them down for you. Do not let them sell you any parts. They only guess at what is wrong and most of the time they are wrong in their guesses.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

SOURCE: how to test epc solinoid on 97 mercury mountaineer

You do a test while driving with a live data recording scan device and then look at the information in graphs at the shop when you return. In off vehicle test is invalid.

Why does my 2001 Mazda MPV slams into reverse?

I means the transmission pumps pressure regulater is failing
that VAC line tells the box engine load. and if bad can cause
transmission to shift wrong. upshifts early or late.
but none the less it is bad fix what you see is bad.
does this box have TV cable, from TB TV valve top transmisssion
if yes it too must never be jammed, it is, transmission damage deeper happens./
they both control pump output main control pressure.
VAC modulatori and the TV cable. (throttle valve = TV) from TB throttle body
it is pump pressure issue on the main line(inside)

yes 800 rpm is slower than 1500 cold RPM an the pump runs slower so yes, pump output is less.
the transmission manual has page covering pUMP output port tests.
in all gears to see it fail. all transmission shops this is one of the first tests. besides, cable TV bad or VAC mod bad.

1999 f150 4.6L 4r70w automatic transmission.truck will go in reverse goes into park and nutral but will no engage into drive. what is the problem?

Could be valve body problems, shift solenoid or the TCM. If all check out good then I'd overhaul the transmission.

Ford crown victoria 99 won't go forward goes in reverse

You have a 4r70w transmission and more than likely a forward drum failure has occurred, seeing as reverse still works fine and no forward engagement. This is not an electrical problem, it is a hard part failure and the transmission will need to be disassembled to repair it. Forward drum failures are one of the more common failures in these transmissions. 4r70w no forward gears only reverse help needed Ford Truck Enthusiasts...

Automatic - Does not engage when in Drive or reverse.

I'll answer for A/T auto tranny car, with 4wd.
RPM.

got a dash tachometer?
if yes this is easy.
you step on the throttle (right foot) and advance the RPM
to where.
stuck at 800? rpm
goes to 1500 to 2000 and shakes, (brakes iced up. and frozen)
goes to 3000 rpm or more, (tranny failure) or 4wd in neutral?

When in reverse before it goes it jumps and also at 3 rpm's it jumps then goes

What you're describing is hard shift-shock. Its a symptom of old transmission fluid, or a transmission fluid leak, causing an empty transmission. Don't drive your car til you check the transmission fluid level, and change it if it's dark-looking.

92 prelude si (auto)

With normal acceleration the 1st to second shift point should be around 2500-3000 rpm. Most of your shifts under moderate acceleration will take place at this same point or when there a light load on the transmission. Under hard acceleration the RPMs will climp higher due to increased power needs and the computer will shift when less power is needed or the RPMs climb to an unsafe speed say5000-6000rpms (depending on where yours redlines). Also going up a steep hill will raise the RPMs higher and goind down a hill will cause a faster shift at lower RPMs. These can always be altered by an individual owner by adjusting shift points, using performance parts and if you have problems (low tranny fluid/trans issues). Your trans RPMS are fine and will vary depening on how your foot accelerates. The shift pattern should be the same every time you drive slow/medium/fast/, look for changes in those patterns you will also catch a problem early.
