If the engine air filter is good, and the exhaust is not restricted, then check the turbo bearings

1992 Peterbilt 379 feels sluggish pulling load up hill and is blowing black smoke

have a turbo boost pressure test done under load on a chassis dyno
under load the boost should be right up
check for leaks in the intercooler hose fittings or cracks in the intercooler
black smoke under load indicates a faulty turbo or turbo air leaks.

Whistle from turbo.. 2007 mazda bt50 2.5 diesel turbo. . While accelerating I get this whistle noise in the cab. High pitched sort of. it sounds like its around the passenger side footwell.. if driving...

locate the waste-gate and see if you can cover it temporarily while driving. see if this changes it any. It could have a pin sized hole in the diaphragm. just a guess.

I have isuzu bighorn '92 model automatic, there is a leaking oil under the intercooler turbo...is this normal?thanks.

Leaking of any fluid is not normal. The only time any fluid should expel from the car is if you have overfilled something. Your turbo could need replacing, you could have a hole in the intercooler. Have you noticed any lack of performance or extra smoke...

When you step on the gas, you hear loud air pressure, and it lacks power

I am assuming yours is a Turbo? because it sounds like an air pipe has blown off, have a poke arround under the hood, try and locate the turbo (I know it is tight under there) and follow the pipe to the intercooler, make sure the worm drive clips are on and tight, then follow the pipe (about 3 inch diameter) to the inlet, make sure the pipes and intercooler are intact. Did anything happen just before this problem? any work done or anything run over>

Engine power loss

Can you hear the turbo spooling up? If yes do you hear an air noise... could a number of things from bad turbo, air to air leaking or its piping, or something simple like a clogged fuel or air filter.

Whistleing sound on golf gt tdi

It's probably the turbo you're hearing. They spin very fast and make a noise like that. Ever hear an 18-wheeler go by you and accelerate and they make that high-pitched whistle? That's the turbo spooling up. Now, if it sounds like a dentist's drill, that's usually a sign that the turbo is failing, but I'd bet that since your car is under four years old, as long as you've kept up on the maintenance, it's the normal turbo spool.
