A/C clutch kicks on intermitten on my 2004 Corolla.

The a/c clutch sometimes kicks on when you press the a/c button switch. The green light on the switch always lights up when you turn the a/c on and the engine rpm's change as if the a/c copressor kicks in. Would the compressor relay cause this? Could it be in the control switch or could the copressor clutch be going out?

Power to the ac compressor is the problem
could be the thermostat relay or what you have the ac set at
the ac will cycle if the cabin temp is at the setting
if you have climate control it will cycle as well

SOURCE: press a/c button on dash, green light comes on,

good afternoon and welcome to fixya.
just curious this may sound like dumb question but is the freon level at the proper lb level? yes i know you probably already checked this but need to ask anyways, have to start somewhere. next is there any little particles of metal shavings between the compressor and ac clutch where the two bolt together? you could have bad compressor or clutch. if all of this has been checked then need to add ac dye to system and blow through with compressed air. make sure that freon is flowing through the accumulator and the compressor head properly and through system. be careful not to put to much pressure in system, you may just have a clog line or evaporator coil and a good draining, vacuuming and cleaning of system may take care of it. you did mention the relay was changed also, after being changed was the volts and resistence checked to make sure that they are within limits? could be faulty wiring going to relay. here are a few ideas let me know where we are so i can help you more if needed, we needed to start somewhere so if you have already tried all of these then my apologizes and let me know so we can move forward. thank you for using fixya and please rate my solution. let me know what your outcome is so we can get you cool.

please rate my solution??

SOURCE: My AC is not blowing

First of all check the freon pressure, if the pressure is low the compressor clutch will not turn on. The pressure should be between 30-40 PSI.

What causes my cruise controll to not work intermittenly

cruise control starts working above 50kmh, so if your under that it wont work. the cruise servo may be at fault, or I have seen battery acid leak down on the vacuum lines causing cruise not to work correctly. cruise control works off of a vacuum so without it, it wont work. if the cruise light doesn't turn on when pressing the set/cruise button intermitantly it may be the switch itself that is starting to fail

Clutch pedal is no longer working. cannot get vehicle in gear either.

Yes it could be the hydraulic clutch assembly or the clutch itself.
Someone would need to check the function of the slave cylinder in the area of the clutch to see if it is working.

Renault megane, 2004 1.4 dynamique, brake lights not working (both sides but high level one ok) have checked bulbs, fuses, connections at cluster, loom in areas for visible damage, all other lights ok

Seems to me that the brake lights switch has a problem there is a way to test this problem, you normally press the clutch pedal and hold down the start button to start the engine, now try pressing the break pedal down and hold the start button, if the car does not start up change the brake pedals switch.

Manual transmission, have to press clutch all the way to the floor to start car, can this be adjusted

the clutch 'safety' switch is basically a button on a bracket under the dash that is pushed by the clutch pedal lever to only allow the car to start when it's depressed.it's described as 'self adjusting',having to push it to the floor is normal.check condition of switch bracket, that a 'heavy' foot hasn't bent it,look at switch 'pusher' on lever for an adjustment or modification to suit your needs.

Bought 98 corolla recentlywhen i tried to turn on the a/c the green licght on thr a/c switch starts blinking i took it to a shop to have the a//c recharged and they said the freon was full but the...

Check the A/C system 'gas low pressure' monitor switch is not in alarm (i.e. open circuit). If it is, take it back to the A/C re-charge shop to have it re-checked.
Check the a/c 'clutch operate' relay is operating when the a/c switch is on.

Blinking or chattering of the compressor clutch usually indicates low "freon" charge.

2004 Chevy Cavalier Cruise Control Problem

here are two switches that are the usual causes of the cruise kicking out. they are both under the dash. One is the switch for the brake lamps (stop light switch). the other is for the clutch if you have a manual transmission.

if you follow the brake pedal up under the dash you'll find two switches at the top of the pedal. (it may be one switch but I think its two). the top one would be for the cruise control. if the switch is loose it will cause the cruise control to think you're stepping on the brake and that will disengage the cruise control

same with the clutch pedal if you have a manual transmission; if the switch is loose it will indicate you are pushing the clutch pedal in and cause the cruise to kick out

other than that you'll have to check all of the connectors. If it does engage then the fuses and actuators should be good and it would be a loose connector or switch that's kicking it out

also, i assume your speedometer works; if its not then that's your problem as the cruise won't engage under 30 mph
