AC condensor will not run

AC system is fully charged but no cold air. My mechanic said the condensor will not turn on and thought it was eithr a relay or a fuse issue.

Look in your fuse pannel and check the a/c fuses/relays.

SOURCE: Buick Roadmaster 1996 AC not working

The linear actuator that regulates the blend of air between hot and cold was broken and needed to be replaced. That was my suspicion. Fuses were all good. Relays were all good. Compressor pump cycled. Freon was "proper". Dealership only charged about $400 in parts and labor to confirm my guess.

disconect the negative battery cable from battery for 20 seconds and replace cable back,then try ac let me know if this helps u

It may be a bad pressure switch or refrigerant temp sensor.

SOURCE: 1996 Buick Riviera Cooling fan won't shut off. we

COOLING FAN IS CONTROLLED BY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (CTS). REMOVE THE CONNECTOR FROM IT AND IT SHOULD STOP THE FAN.
OR JUST REMOVE BATTERYGROUND CABLE.
ITEMS TO CHECK OUT :

CTS,RELAY,CIRCUIT FOR SHORTS.
NOT LIKELY BUT IS A POSSIBILITY, THR ECU.

Start by checking to make sure that the a/c condensor and radiator is not full off debris. If the condensor and radiator were full of debris it will limit the air flow from the engine cooling fan which in tern will cause a high discharge pressure on the discharge on the a/c causing poor or no cooling at idle and could also cause vehicle to overheat. Check and make sure that the cooling fan as well as the condensor fan are coming on together when the a/c is turned on if equipped with 2 fans.

My ac quit blowing cold air
If you know for a fact the system is charged, you'll need a wiring diagram to track the circuit from the switch and relay to the clutch. Could be one of several components.

Should have two fans one is the radiator fan and the other is the condensor fan .If the condensor fan does not come on then the ac will not work.

Hey I am haveing a problem with My 2500HD ac system. I have changed The Condensor, evaporator, and the Compressor. I have charged it to the correct levels. It blows cool air, but it doesn't get cold....
Did you change the Receiver/ Drier and the Orfice Tube/ Expansion Valve? The Receiver/ Drier takes moisture out of the system and the Orfice Tube/ Expansion Valve controls the Hot/ Cold air. If that is bad it may not be opening or closing fully which would not let your A/C get as cool as it supposed to.

A 1999 Cherokee with the compressor running can be overcharged or the compresser blown, ( not pumping) Most of the timw if this happens the pump is noisely when running with gauges hooked to the system and the compressor on the low side shold be low and the high side 175 lbs. or more. If it is and the lines coming from the compressor are hot on the highside(small)and coldonthelow ( bigger ) thenan air doormay not be working in the dash. a scanner may help looking thought the body control systems and find something not working correctly.

Can't go by the pressure. Ck the large lone coming out of firewall, should be col. Small line at ac condensor in front of radiator should be hot.

Static pressure on high side probably 80psI Running 30 on the low side and 1130. will vary depending on oiutside temp Hope this hekoped

Intermitten A/C problem on my 1995 suburban
Unfortunately, the A/C systems on the GMT400 (92-99) GM SUV's were not particularly reliable. A fuse may have blown (unlikely), compresser may be bad, the condensor could be out, or the entire system may need replacement.
My advice? Take it to a different mechanic, or a dealer.
