I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder that sputters after start.

I can start my car and drive it fine, but when I get to where I'm going, say the bank, when I get back to my car, it starts, but then sputters and dies. RPM are really low when it starts, and it gets lower til the car stops completely. If I let the car sit for an hour or two, it will start and run fine. Check Engine light came on a while ago, said it was the Camshaft Sensor. Tried replacing with an aftermarket sensor, made the problem worse. Car would start, but hiccuped while driving. Took the sensor off, put the old one back on and it ran fine for a few days then the original problem started up again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi Carisma 1997

its a very common fault with the GDi engine, normally first shows a fault after 60k miles. Fault will also make the engine feel slightly juddery on occasions whilst cruising... either/both Accelerator body or Cam sensor are the usual culprit. Both can be rather expensive.

If you have spark, try changing the fuel filter. If you don't have spark, get back to me.

Where is a Mitsubishi eclipse spyder 2003 wiper relay ?

The two relays for the front [main] wipers are part of the front ECU [engine computer] and are not serviceable separately. The front wipers are powered by a 10 amp [#22 in the relay box] battery hot fuse and a 20 amp [#18 in the junction box] & two 7.5 amp [#20 & #23 in the junction box] ignition hot fuses. The front ECU is located under the hood. It sits on top of the driver's inner fender well.

My 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS 2.4L keeps getting the code of "P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)"

Hi tazzsofly, I'm glad to help!

Anytime, you have a "CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION CODE" it means the problem can be in the sensor, the wiring, the connector at the sensor or connector at the engine controller or even the engine controller itself. FIRST: Check all the related wiring and connectors if you find NO Damage to the wiring or connectors then there is a possibility the NEW SENSOR could be faulty OR the Engine Controller could be the issue. Hope this helps and have an awesome day tazzsofly.

97 mitsubishi eclipse spyder 5 speed overheating

Sounds like you lost your drive belt on the vehicle. Check to see if you still have a drive belt. Without a drive/serpentine belt you will get exactly what you have described. I'm just guessing but this is the first thing I would check. Hope it's something that simple for you and that you didn't get your engine too hot and I was able to help.

I've been messing with the stereo and took the seats out to check the amp. I don't think I disconnected the negative cable on the battery and now the windows won't do anything and the top won't go up or down. What did I screw up?
