Where are the heater core hook ups

Assuming the fan blows OK but you have no heat. Go to the firewall and notice where the heater hoses enter and exit the cabin. You'll notice a metal manifold and also a rubber bypass hose that connects the two. This bypass hose is a design problem and causes the coolant to bypass the heater core which is located inside the cabin under the dash. Over time, the heater core gets blocked by gunk and you'll get no heat. All the coolant flows through the bypass hose when this happens. The fix is to flush the heater core itself. It's difficult to access at the firewall, so I disconnect the two hoses at the engine itself and attach a garden hose to flush it. Before doing this you must clamp (vice grips) the bypass hose so that all of the water goes through the heater core.

you will not have any heat at all ! so do this. remove the hoses. on firewall side to heater core. go to any auto parts store and buy a coolant flush kit, then use the right size tube to hook hoses back together and clamp them. recheck coolant and that should be it. good-day !

have you checked the coolent level?

There are two heater hoses, each appx. 1 inch wide, that run from the engine and hooks up to the heater core, behind your dashboard. The heater core's two connection pipes stick out from the firewall of your jeep and you have to attach the two heater hoses to those two pipes. If someone disconnected your heater, they probably just joined together the two heater hoses, that run from your engine, so now you'll have to disconnect that joining and reattach the hoses to the heater core pipes. That way, hot coolant will flow into the heater core to warm you up.

be careful ! usually when people do that its because the heater core is leaking and they bypass it with the hose so if you hook it back up you might have a mess inside of truck !

The answer is: Your first instinct is probably right. But, you're not going to know for sure until you hook it back up and check it out. Be careful, check for leaks inside and out of the car. You don't want to end up with more problems than you have now.

yes u can bypass the **** core. all you need to do is, take the two hoses going to the heater core, and take em off the heater core, take one hose comply off, and hook the other remaining hose were the other hose was hooked up at.. this will bypass your heater core, but keep in mind you will not have hot air in the cabin of the car..keith...

Have had the same problem with a Corsica.The reason they bypassed the heater core is that it had a hole in it.Reccomend filling with water prior to hooking up hoses.

I own a 200 Chevrolet Blazer and I have it for over 4 years mine does the same thing I actually just noticed my heat getting less. My husband found the best way to fix it and the cheapest way to fix it. He takes the tube off the heater and attaches a water hose to it and flushes out the gunk whatever is blocking the hose and after he does that the heat works great. No cost and if I wanted to I could do it because its so easy. My husband did some searching on the internet and a person that this happens all the time to let me husband know. its not a fuse if the blower motor works , you have a clogged or bad thermastat, bad water pump or your radiator heater core is clogged
