What is involved in tuning up a 2002 Buick Century Custom

Recently separated from my husband, I'm on my own for the first time with vehicle maintenance. I get HORRIBLE gas mileage, and wonder what's involved in a "tune-up" for my vehicle, and a ball-park estimate of costs. Thanks!

How do you fix a broken column shifter in a 2002 Buick Century

If the column shifter in your 2002 Buick Century is broken, you will need to have it repaired or replaced. This is not a repair that can be easily done at home, as it involves disassembling the dashboard and steering column to access the shifter mechanism. In order to fix a broken column shifter, it is recommended to have the vehicle assessed by a qualified mechanic. They will be able to diagnose the specific cause of the issue and recommend the appropriate repair or replacement. Depending on the extent of the damage, the repair may involve replacing the shifter mechanism, the shifter cable, or other related components.

My 1998 buick century custom when warm luggs like it has a miss. The electical on dash board are not on, still has power but luggs... please help !

first thing I would do is check all tune up components, distributor cap (worn out or cracked), rotor (worn out) , spark plugs if new check spark plug gap, spark plug wires, check engine timing. if that doesn't solve the problem check engine compression possible blown head gasket or leaking piston rings, check fuel pressure, change out fuel filter. also if your catalytic converter going bad can cause a lack of power.

Missing intermittenly, shows problem with #2 cylinder. Could it be the coil and can you purchase separate coils.

Theses coils are separate, but handle 2 cylinders at a time. So in your vehicle you should have 3 coils.Random misfire may be caused by the following: due 4 tune-up, faulty coil, faulty spark plug, faulty plug wire, faulty cam or crank sensor, poor cylinder compression, intake/head gasket leaks. Before replacing parts, make sure that #2 cylinder is diagnosed for the misfire. Otherwise you'll be changing out good parts, and spending more $$$!!
