You may just need to adjust your door jams they may not be closing properly, the other thing you can try is opening one door at a time and putting your finger on the switch usually in the lower l/h corner of b piller and see if the light goes off if not this may be the problem and replace the switch

Trunk ajar light on in message center

Look for a contact switch in the trunk. Sometimes, when the trunk (or door for that matter) gets slammed, then button gets set deeper.
What's happening is door and trunk switches are "self adjusting", and a slam "Self adjusts" too far. It is hard to reset the switch without killing it. Just get another one if you find this to be your situation. Test the switch before you buy a replacment.

What would cause the door ajar indicator light to remain on when car is off and doors are closed? This is also draining the battery.

Sounds like the wires to the door switch are shorted or the switch is damaged. You may have to remove a kick panel to access the wires.

The switch is located in the latch of the trunk, make sure the wire connector to the switch is not pulled loose or otherwise damaged.

After I lock my 2001 clk 430 with the key remote the inetrior lights stay on and the exterior lights start flashing, what can I do to fix this?

Alarm system is detecting a fault. It could be a door latch sensor gone wrong, and it should show a door ajar light while driving, or the hood or trunk sensor disconnected. Most alarms are designed to "arm", even if it detects an open door.

Instrument cluster indicates door ajar but there is not

The door latch has a switch built into it to replace the old door jamb switch. If the switch is faulty the system will think the door is ajar. A scanner will show an open switch.

YOU SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY.

Interior Light sometimes will not shut off in Ford Ranger Pick up

If I am not mistaken, the plunger is located in the door with the latch. Most of the time you can just pull the door panel off and adjust the switch. After opening and closing the door, they get knocked out of adjustment. I sincerely hope that this helped you. Take care and best wishes.

Light staying on

This is usually caused by the switches sticking in the door latches. Try spraying some WD40 in the latches and open and close the doors a bunch of times that should take care of it.
