That light on your dash is not a light. That is a sunlight detector. When you have your AC on and its sunny out and therefor warmer your AC needs a higher fan speed. Not sure about the rest. Try holding down the hood switch and locking your car then release it.

Might be the battery in your remote is dead and wont turn it on. That was one issue I had, changed the battery and was fine

Saab 9-3 2000. Cranked but not start. No signal on coil. How many can cause that problem?

The theft prevention electronics can cause it, The engine control module can cause it, the ignition control module can also cause it.

Can i unplug the anti theft system in my 1992 saab and my car still start and run?

No you can't. You can bypass a key or module, But the ECM still needs a signal to start and run the car.

The lights in the dash come on but the security light jus flashes and the car want turn over or nothin

You have a failed antitheft security system. The key is most likely the problem. That little chip tends to wear down. It could also be a few other things. Since the light is flashing, it will either be the key or ignition lock cylinder. If it wear solid, then it would be the TDM (Theft Deterrent Module) which is the brain of the security system. Try rplacing the key. if that doesnt work you have 2 choices. Replace the ignition or bypass the security. There are 2 ways to bypass your car. BOTH will work for you. Ive done it. This link will help you understand the system and guide you with pictures and those 2 other links. Any questions, comment back on THIS post. Im good with BUICKS and always willing to help. 97 Saab 900s. my dash gauge lights and gauges would flicker and not work randomly for a while and now they dont work at all. The other lights on the dash work fine and the car works fine. just the gas...

Try to tightin up the light bulb. be aware the only way to do this is to remove the hole dash. if you do not know how to do this i would recamend you take it to a shop are ask me to go through step by step directions.

How do i get my key out of a 1996 saab 900

As part of the safety/theft detterent system, most SAABs will only allow key removal when YOU PUT THE (manual) TRANSMISSION IN REVERSE. Not sure how it would work with an automatic transmission. If yours is a manual transmission, give that a try. I had a 1992 SAAB 900S convertible. Ran like a raped ape but the A/C gave out on us. Miss the old girl though.

Hope this helps!

Key turns to start, but no engine turn over

Hi, The problem is likely to be the starter soleniod, but check all your connections to battery first

1997 cadillac deville delagance - anti theft device

I've got a 97 deville d'elegance that has issues similar to these. Last year the red anti-theft light came on and the car wouldn't start-took it to the dealership and they replaced the PCM? (the main brain for the system) for $900...the guy told us the wiring was so corroded he didn't want to mess with it much. Today the message started flashing on the dash that says "anti-theft problem/ car may not restart" but it still turned over in the driveway a couple times so I am hoping I can reset it. The wiring system is jacked and will probably need to replace the wiring harness completely. Doubt its worth it. Not a secure feeling with 2 babies in the back seat in the middle of winter....

95 saab 900 turb0 gauge cluster works intermetanly

I have this problem too and my new Saab mechanic told me that I would probably need a new instrument cluster. He said a brand new one costs $2500 but that he would order me a used one from a car that had fewer miles than mine as you can set them back but not forward. He both diagnosed and temporarily "fixed" the problem by slamming his hand really hard on the dash over the panel and all the lights and gauges immediately started working fine....for now. I haven't had the work done yet (I have a 1998 Saab 900S with 130K) so if anyone has any other ideas about this I would love to know what they are. This issue with the gauges and dash lights has been happening on and off for over a YEAR and this is the first time someone has had any idea what it is. I already had my ignition switched replaced so we know that's not what it was. THANKS

Retrieve fault codes 92 900

Fault codes come from the fuel injection system diagnostic circuitry, which can store up to three faults. They can be read through the check engine light in the dash. You'll need to make a switched test lead with a spade connector on one end for connecting to the test connector. The other end is connected to ground. In 1992 the test connector is located beneath rear seat in sedan, or under the bellows ahead of shifter in convertible. With ignition off and test lead off, connect test lead to ground and test connector pin 2. turn ignition key to ON When Check Engine light comes on, turn test lead switch ON; Check Engine light should immediately go out When Check Engine light flashes ONCE, IMMEDIATELY turn test lead switch OFF Any fault codes will flash through the Check Engine light, with a long flash at beginning and end of each code; code flashes are short flashes, each block of flashes is separated by a longer space. With the engne OFF, the first fault code is that for "No RPM" 1 2 2 3 1, it will look like oooo x xx xx xxx x oooo where o = steady on, x = single flash There are over 20 fault codes, so get yourself a copy of the best source of info on this car: the "Bentley Bible" aka the Saab 900 Official Service Manual, costs about $40 from Amazon 16 valve manual: http://www.amazon.com/Saab-900-Valve-Service-Manual/dp/0837603137 8 valve manual :http://www.amazon.com/Eight-Official-Service-Manual-1981-1988/dp/0837603102 Hope this helps, if it does please give a "thumbs up", thanks Saabreur
