The front speakers of my 2007 chevy impala work, but only seem to work only partially. With the fader turn all the way to the front, I hear the highs, but there is no bass. After an hour or so of driving, the problem clears up. What could be causing the problem? It does not seem like a wiring issue because driving over bumps does not create a connection...even for a split second.

pop out the center trim piece with a flat head screwdriver. Center dash piece may be brushed aluminum or wood grain depending on trim level. It should pop out easily working all the way around it. Then radio is held in with 7mm screws.

It is not fixed by an aerosol or scent additive to the air in the cabin. It will only mask the smell for a period of time.
Your cause is the air filter for the A/C system. You can buy a new one at local auto stores.
To replace it, you will need to open your hood. On the passenger side of the car, look just under the windshield at the trim panel under the wipers. You will see several tabs holding down this particular side of the trim piece. Using a phillips head screwdriver, gently rotate the screw pieces out of the tab holder (if this doesn't get it, you'll need to use a small flat head in unison to apply pressure to the screw to come out). There are 3. Once these are removes, gently pull the hood rubber gasket seal up and place out of the way. Note: you won't need to remove it from the car, just enough to clear the trim piece. Remove the trim and you will see a filter. Remove the filter and replace. Installation of trim is reverse.
That will fix your mildew smell from the vents. This WILL NOT fix a mildew smell if caused by interior mildew.
Note: The directions to change this filter are also found in your Owner's Manual if you have it. It is a simple procedure and should take about 15 minutes if you are taking your time.
Thanks for the inquiry.

the radio runs the door chimes as well as a number of other components. dash lights things liketha so if your stereo is not working thats why your door chimes are not either. I would start with fuses then look to getting a new stereo only thing ir a n aftermarket harness for that car runs about $150 bucks

It could be, but check shock bushings, control arm bushings, sway bar and brackets. There are anumber of things that can cause a rattle. The first thing to be done is jack the truck up mput it on stands and start checking before replaceing parts. Pay close attention to shocks bushings and anything rubber.

You need to remove the carpet on the passengers side and check the wireing harness, take off the tape and visually inspect it.You are likely to find broken splices ,bare wires or wires shorted to each other or to ground.
