Check under the dash and see if you can find a fuse that controls the pcm and fuel heater. Change fuse if blown.
Glow plug relay is a problem with that year up to 1994 but it is warm enough out at this time of year it shouldn't effect it .
Check lift pump to ensure adequate pressure. This has me a little stumped ? I am leaning towards a blown fuse.

Replace the wire. It is shorting to ground, causing the fuse to blow.

SOURCE: Ford f250 Truck 1987 460. Solenoid sticks once in

Most likely you need a new Ignition switch. The small "tickler" wires on your solenoid are staying on. You can disconnect the small wire from the Solenoid and then put a test light on it. Turn the Ignition to Start and see if the wire stays hot when you release the key.

Another problem you could have is the Starter has such a bad intermittent short in it, that it keeps the points welded together after the key is released from the Start position. You can get a starter Draw test done at some parts stores like Autozone or Oreillys to name a few, they do it free and on the truck.

Let me know the result please,

I had a camaro that did something similar but different. This one would run and start, but some thigs quit working. There was a fusible link down by the starter that burned out. I replaced it and everthing was fine.

2001 rodeo won't start. the solenoid on the

the clicking is the start relay which u don't hear unless the starter doesn't work, u have a defective starter solenoid, the internal contacts are burned, this is a NipponDenso style starter and they all have this same problem, u can replace the starter, replace the starter solenoid or replace the copper contacts in side the solenoid for around $12.00 USD
