2003 lincoln town car instrument cluster not working

No odometer, speedometer, tach, or fuel. abs & red brake light on. dash does light up but on nub.

    I have the same problem on my 2003... It is not the instrument cluster. I switched clusters and still have the same problem. Fords scan says it is information module. Well guess what no one knows where that is.

Go to Autozone and purchase a Clymer repair manuel. It will show how to remove the dash. You need to find all the screws.

SOURCE: Electronic problems with the dash display

Your digital dash is loosing its ability to illuminate,it's dying.Your dealer can have it repaired or you will have to get a new one.One more thought,you can replace it with one from the junk yard,but you should have it documented as to the miles on yours and the different miles on the one you would buy.

why did you replace the battery? is this the one recomended for this car or was price an issue? was the charging system tested? these are things i would check before worring too much. this IS an electrical issue and the common denominator is the battery. let me know if this does not rectify the issue. happy holidays

Forget the four coils. That is a common problem,but I would question 4 failing.
The ABS ,Parking Brake,Speedo Etc,where nothing to worry about,you were loosing power, when it went to fail safe,so they came up.

ETC -is Electronic Throttle Control, your problem? Maybe
You will need to have a scanner put on it's,daignostic connector under the dash,to check for codes. Them only a trained technician can follow a chart or test proceedure to properly repair.
I have a 2004 LS,one of Ford most high tech and complicated vehicles.
Conclusion: only a professional can repair you car.
I would start with a local shop. If money you have money to throw away,go to a dealer.
Most likely have to wave to it on a flat bed carrier. Don't flat tow it.

The Park Lamps and Instrument Panel illumination lamps are controlled by the lighting control module. The problem could be either the headlamp switch or the Lighting control module. Most likely, the head lamp switch.
The most likely cause of the brake lamps not working would be a failed Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch. It could also be caused by the multifunction switch. To find out if it is the BPP, check for power at the BPP switch. One terminal has a Light Green and Red (LG/R) wire and the other has a Plain Light Green (LT GN) wire. The LG/R wire should be hot at all times. The LT GN wire should be hot only when the pedal is pressed down.

If there is no power at all, there is probably a blown fuse at fuse #10 (20 Amp) in the Central Junction Box (CJB) located uder the left side of the dash. If this fuse is blown, you have a short circuit between the CJB and the BPP switch.

If there is power only on the LG/R wire even with the pedal pressed, then replace the BPP switch.

If there is power on both sides of the BPP then check fuses #20 (7.5 Amp) and #22 (20 Amp) also locatedin the CJB.

If fuse #20 is blown, you have a short between the BPP and the Lighting Control Module. If fuse #22 is blown, you could have a short anywhere from the BPP through the Multifunction Switch all the way back to the brake lamps themselves.

The Brake lamps, Turn Signals, and Park Lamps all share the same ground, so if the Turn Signals are working, it is not likely a ground problem.

2003 chrysler town & country speedometer stuck

sit in the drivers seat close the door. with the key off hold the trip odometer button in then while holding the button in turn the key on. if done correctly this will put the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) into a self test. if the speedometer does not move like the rest of the gauges during this test the MIC must be replaced. if the speedometer does move it is likely your problem will be fixed, however, if the speedometer does move but it does not start working properly then further diagnostic will be needed.

Speedometer not working

I would hold off on trying to buy a new or used instrument cluster unless your sure thats the problem.... your vehicle is equipped with a speed sending unit and that can be faulty ask your self is the other functions of the cluster working? tachometer, fuel, lights etc? then may only be sending unit for speed have it checked out by a pro or follow instructions of troubleshooting section of your repair manual I always try to keep it simple did you check the fuses and relays? then move on from there. If it is sending unit or cluster heres a place I have used for years to get hceap good used and new parts Peach street autorecycling 18003652341 ggod luck and dont forget to rate me if I have helped.
