Leaking oil tube seals. Replace the valve cover gasket and the oil tube seals. Clean out the oil tubes. Replace the spark plugs and you'll be good to go.
You didn't find oil in the pistons, you found oil in the spark plug tubes. This is fairly common on older engines. Over time the seals in the valve cover begin to leak around the spark plug tubes. Oil then works it's way into the tube and settles in the bottom.
There is an easy fix. Simply replace the valve cover gasket.
Your spark plug tubes are leaking. The spark plug tubes are set in the valve cover, where the plugs set. It's an easy fix, I recommend a set of spark plug tubes that come with a valve cover gasket. Pull the valve cover and swap the gasket and spark plug tubes, problem solved. Take you maybe 30 minutes to finish the job. I recommend at least replacing the plug that was getting oil all over it. At least wipe it down real well and let it dry good. Common problem, easy fix.

No it isn't..the problem is caused by failed spark plug seals on the valve cover. There is a seal for each spark plug tube and the ends can get brittle and allow oil to seep into the tubes. You can get new ones at most any auto parts store and the are easy to replace. Another way for oil to get into the tubes is if the vavle cover is taken off and when it is put back on the seals aren't "worked" around the tubes. When I do it I use a very thin screwdriver and go around each sparkplug tube to make sure the lip of the seals is not caught by the tube and cut.
1.your valve cover's spark plug chamber seal is leaking. Which requires removing the valve covers and replacing the gaskets and seals. 2. Excessive oil spills on to the valve cover and ignition coils when adding oil.
**This excess oil on the plug boots can cause the coils to short and eventually fail.
although I am not familiar with this particular engine my son's Mazda Miata had oil in the plug holes and it only required a new valve cover gasket to fix it.
It is possible the tubes are leaking at the bottom but highly unlikely. There is next to 0 oil pressure in that area so the tubes would actually drain if leaking. I would start with the tube seals and gaskets as you have already planned and check it again later down the road like at the next oil change interval. You're on the right track for the repair, just be patient with the intake plenum and you'll do fine.
thread dammaged in head causing spark pug to come loose can fit heli coil to fix thread in head so spark plug wont come loose and leak oil into tube. other places oil can come from to cover plug in oil
remove rocker cover then remove spark plug tube they are screwed into head and clean thread of tube and apply sealant loctite to thread refit to head and may pay to replace seal for top of spark plug tube that is in rocker cover
one of these or both can leak, if tube is tight in head it may not be leaking the top seal is
The oil on the spark plug usually comes from the valve cover seal or the spark plug tube. The valve cover seals to the tube and the tube seals to the head. The tube is usually a tight fit in to the head with a little sealant. The tubes can be purchased at the chrysler dealer or possibly at a local parts store. As for the red fluid,it is automatic transmission fliud . It is used in the manual transmission as well as the power steering system. You could have an axle seal leak, transmission shifter seal leak, power steering seal leak, depending on which side of the vehicle is wet.
