The crank sensor is on the front( bottom) of the engine behind the crank pulley, the pulley will have to be removed to access the sensor. It is the largest pulley directly in front of the oil pan.

Location of crank case sensor on a 97 towncar

It doesn't have a crank case senor. Do you mean crank shaft position sensor? It is stuck in the block between the block and the A/C compressor.

Stopped while driving replaced fuel filter and pump and crank shaft senor

I suspect you have a bad camshaft sensor. It is part of the distributor. To check, remove distributor cap and rotor (1 screw for rotor) and check for brown dust. If yes, remove slotted wheel and clean optical sensor. If car starts, you need a distributor.

Crank sensor has no affect on system. It is used for back up only.

WHERE IS THE CRANK SHAFT SENOR?

The crank sensor is located on the trans. bell housing.Look behind the engine where the tranny bolts to the block and on top of the bell housing just a little off center you will see the sensor which has 2 bolts mounting it in place. It has a 6in length of wire attached to it with a plug on the end. This sensor reads off the flywheel.Hope this helps.

Crank senor

It mounts next to the harmonic balancer on the passenger side of motor,Look under car on the passenger side and the front pulley on the crankshaft, you will see a star or piece with teeth at the back of the crankshaft pulley, you should then see the sensor mounter close to this. This is what the sensor is actually reading is the teeth.

Have a 2001 jeep cherokee just put a cam senor in but still not starting can the crank senor be bad to or could i got the shaft that the senor sit on moved

The crank sensor is a well known cause of no spark condition, it is most likely the real problem, the crankshaft sensor for a Jeep 2001 is located behind the starter, you have to remove the starter to gain access, even then it is hard to get at.
