P1388 Variable Cam Timing Overretarded (Bank #2)

Jaguar issued a Technical Service Bulletin related to this code ("Malfunction indicator lamp illuminated 3.0 l v6 false flagging of diagnostic trouble code P1383 or P1388"); reprogramming of the PCM should correct the problem

If your PCM already has been updated, then there is an issue with your variable valve timing system. It will need further diagnosis.

What is the code p1388 on the 2002 jaguar v8

P 1388--Variable Cam Timing Over- (Bank 2)

VCT solenoid valve stuck open
Camshaft advance mechanism binding
Need Correct Oil Filter

I will speculate here & say you don\'t run 5W-20 full
syn oil & don\'t change every 4,000 miles since motor
was new

Now you have oil flow issues with the solenoid or failed
cam actuators

What is the fault codes 1388 and 1389 for a 2002 Dodge Grand caravan? My engine stops while driving and won't start. It will usually start later but seems to be starved for fuel.

No voltage sensed at the PCM (powertrain control module) when the ASD (auto shut down) relay is energized. It could be the ASD relay, the PCM, possibly their relays.
If you are interested in further diagnosing the problem, I will be happy to assist you.

I have 3 ipc codes what does ipc stand for 98 cadillac eldorado

IPC stands for Instrument panel control, here is a typical code repair flow chart, this is for example only and has nothing to do with your car..
P083 = 24x signal high.

P107 = Instrument panel control )IPC) to computer (PCM) data problem.

P137 = Loss of Automatic braking system (ABS) to Traction control system (TCS).

What you need to do is CLEAR all these codes from the computer and see which ones return.

Perform this test.

1. Ignition key ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Diagnostic codes such as above will appear with the word HISTORY or CURRENT for each code.

4. The codes will stop when you see PCM?

5. Push and release the HI(^) button and you will see PCM DATA?

6. Push and release the LO(v) button and you will see PCM DATA?

7. Continue to push and release the LO (v) button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

8. Push and release the HI(^) button until you see PCM CODES CLEAR.

9. Turn OFF the ignition and wait 3 minutes and try and start the car. If the car starts and the light comes back ON, Turn OFF the car and repeat steps 1 thru 3 and let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.

10. When you see PCM?, Turn OFF ignition key.

11. Let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.

WAIT 3 seconds and then proceed to 9.

9. Turn OFF the ignition and wait 3 minutes and try and start the car. If the car starts and the light comes back ON, Turn OFF the car and repeat steps 1 thru 3 and let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.
