I wrote before about the air conditioner compressor on my 1992 buick, I made a mistake and its called the clutch, it will engage when I jump it directly to the battery. Is this still the module problem? so sorry for confusion.

1992 Buick PA,if you add power directly to the clutch and it comes only obviuosly you have a power supply problem or low freon,Your system basically has a low pressure switch this is located on or near the filter drier,if you jump the switch together, you have low freon or a bad low pressure switch,i wrote previously that it was the compressor on t - 8_10_2012_4_43_43_am.jpg

SOURCE: air conditioner compressor clutch will not engage

Test the power to the clutch with a voltmeter. If there is power, then clutch is likely faulty. If no power, test the relay and check the fuses.

SOURCE: The air conditioner is blowing

It seems like a recharge may be in order. I'd try it for sure. Most recharge kits come with a pressure gauge that fits on the end of the coolant can and shows you how much refrigerant you have in the system.

SOURCE: A/C compressor won't turn on

yes it could....could also be a bad low pressure switch or you may have a freon leak and lost all of the refrigerant

SOURCE: My air conditioner clutch wont engage, it works

Of your system is working correctly except for the switch, it should continue to do so without the switch. However, if something fails in the system you risk sustaining more damage...just as removing a fuse from an electrical system will. One thing you did not mention is the compressor relay...have you checked that? It feeds power to high and low switches, so likely you have.

Do I have to remove the air conditioner compressor on a 1996 buick roadmaster so I can install a air conditioner bypass pulley for serpentine belt?

Yes, the bypass pulley fits into the same area that the compressor will have to be removed from.

If it's for fuel efficiency, some people just remove the wiring/plug from the compressor and tape it to the side so that it won't engage, if the clutch isn't damaged it's the same as using a bypass pulley.

Also, the clutch can be replaced and used instead of the bypass pulley, in the event it is bad, retaining the ability to go back to an A/C system should you ever desire.

Good luck !

1992 Pontiac Firebird air conditioner clutch will not engage.

See if it will run by jumping yhe compressor clutch wire directly to the battery ( Be Sure And Use A Fused Jumper Wire) Or you can jumper the two wires that go to your low pressure switch.

Problem with heating and air conditioning. The driver's side is blowing hot air and the passenger side is blowing cold air

Air Conditioner blows warm air
  1. Air conditioner system is discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner compressor clutch not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.

Radio, lighter, and air conditioner on 92 buick le sabre malfunctioned...radio and lighter won't work at all, air conditioner won't recognize being turned on anything but defrost and defog. Could it be...

Check for a fuse that indicates radio and replace it if it's burnt through or melted or discolored. The Buicks have dash controls that require expensive repairs sometimes to get the temperature controls to work so some people jump around the controls by installing a separate toggle switch that directly turns the AC unit off and on for 92 through 94 Buicks. Any AC shop can install the bypass wires.

Air conditioner doesn't work blows out hot air

Does the compressor magnetic clutch operate the compressor? If so, then the coolant has probably leaked out of the system. If clutch doesn't operate the compressor, possible fuse blown, bad relay, or open winding in compressor clutch.
