V6, 149k, power to everything from battery, to starter to all fuses and modules are hot, thought it came down to distributor, and its getting fuel, no problem there. Could really use help, just sold it to a single mom, who drove it 8 miles when it stalled, and I am going to fix for her anyway. as I said it cranks but doesn't turn over, not even intermitent

yeah add on to above coment, check ur distibutor points for corrosion and carfully sand them if there is.

I am having a similar problem and my mechanic thinks it's a fuel regulator. Part was ordered and it's being replaced this week. We'll see. Unrelated, I'm/we're having a heck of a time finding an oil pan...mine is very blistered....but it is 17 years old.

Sounds like it could simply be a corroded battery terminal. Check your battery terminals and if loose, dirty or corroded, remove and clean with a heaped tablespoon of baking sod in a dipper of hot, (not boiling) water.. Then clean the inside of each terminal and the battery post (or what ever connection is used) with emery cloth or a wire brush. Check battery water, top up if necessary, re-fit terminals.Note: Remove negative first and when re-fitting terminals re-fit postive first.

Check your EGR valve, check your PCV valve, check your mass airflow sensor and throttle body sensor.

could be the starter or it could be the starter solenoid.
if you want to test --- take your volt meter and measure the positive wire going to the starter while someone inside the car tries to start the car,, you are measuring between the solenoid and the starter --- if you have 12 volts there then your solenoid is good and the starter is bad,, but I think if I remember it right that the solenoid and the starter are sold as a complete unit --- you can also remove that power cable going to the starter and with a pair of jumper cables ( use only the positive clamp ) ,, clamp one side to the + side of the battery and take the other side and touch the positive post on the starter,, if the starter jumps then the starter is good and the solenoid is bad. be careful not to touch the body of the starter while doing this test, ( damage to the starter or battery can happen if you short it out ).
also check you main fuse to make sure that is not blown...
