1997 toyota camry climate control switch or servo not working fully

My AC runs cold and my climate control switch (i.e. switch that directs where air will flow to whether floor or defrost etc) works except when trying to get air to flow to the face (rotated fully counterclockwise). It seems to not open fully, although some air does come through to the face. It stays stuck there, unless the ac is turned off and then switched to other directions like the floor. Is there a servo that is not working fully? Might it be the switch, even though it largely works?

Blend doors not working. They are controlled electronically by small motors. Could also be something fell down in a vent and is blocking it from it's full range of motion.

SOURCE: Heater

check the heater control valve. its a plastic valve in the engine compartment, ensure the cable is attached and also ensure that the valve moves when heat is selected. also it is possible that someone has bypassed the heater core due to a leak. check to make sure both hoses are still connected.

When ac is on, the 2011 camry blows cold air on the passenger side and regular air flow on the driver side

there is no guessing. only tests. and results.
for any damper to work it:
must be:
  1. not jammed.
  2. inputs to the damper motor good.
  3. wires good to controller and above motor actuator.
  4. controller is sending correct signal. to actuator.
  5. if climate control option it too must be working right.

the fsm has a test for each case.
read it. or

Change oil

Depends on the climate you are in. Use API Grade SG or SH (it is printed on the label of the oil bottle), and

- cold climates below 0 deg C, use 5W-30
- warmer climates above that, use 10W-50

Take a look under the dash at the heater/ac blend door(s) and cycle hot to cold on he dash heat control while asking for AC and the vehicle running.Do the doors move fully?
You may be able to manually help the door move to get cold air.

My 1998 olds silh. back ac doesnt blow cold .

before you tear apart the dash to get to your driver side servo motor-disconnect your battery for 5-minutes, with both front doors open reconnect your battery(this resets your on board computer),then turn your car on and turn your a/c on to high with the coldest setting on both sides for dual air systems and leave the car running for a few minutes. you will feel the air cold again. there is a sensor on the passenger side that will trigger the servo motor to not move if the front door is closed. servos usually get stuck after the power was cut off. if this does not do it, have your a/c sytem checked for leaks.

this is also worth considering:

Dual Climate System. If you're not familiar with this setup, there's a driver and passenger climate setting. The passenger setting knob is on the right of the climate control console. If you have already properly adjusted this setting, there's a problem with the servo motor being out of the preset range for the a/c & heater doors. Every time power is cut from the unit, the servo resets the doors by doing a "sweep" from full cold to full hot maximum range. Over time the servo will fall out of range from constant full range flexing, and the part that controls the range limit must be replaced. Reseting the main module by disconnecting the battery has a slim chance of successfully fixing the issue.

My 96 Camry a/c switch (as well as the defroster)

The pressures of the refrigerant must be close or the system pressure sensors will not let the AC cluch pull in. AC is just not wise for DIY without some gauges and knowledge. Sorry.

95 toyota camry coolant problem

adam, if you want your fans to turn on, add a switch in your dash panel. there is a firewall break behind the driver side front wheel, so all wiring can be run through there. to solve the over heating, check fluid levels, replace the water pump, and just for kicks, replace the fluid and hoses. make sure there is 50/50 mixture in the coolant system that really does make a diffrence. good luck!

AC temperature

Servo motor? I disagree. Actually, there are 3 servo motors in the vehicle; an air inlet servo, an air mix servo, and an air outlet servo. None of which control the temperature.
The AC temp is controlled by a thermister in the cooler box/eveporator unit under the dash.
