My first guess would be the low pressure switch. It gets power from the relay.

2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel 5.9 Cummins

There is no relay. The pressure sensor sends signal to PCM, then the PCM sends signal to the TIPM or total integrated power module which is sort of self contained fuse box but really a micro computer that controls many things. The Module has had known issues that can affect one of many things. I lean to bad module. Here is the diagram for compressor.

tdisline_749.jpg The Integrated Power Module (IPM) is a combination of the Power Distribution Center (PDC) (1) and the Front Control Module (FCM) (2). The PDC mates directly with the FCM to form the IPM. The PDC is a printed circuit board based module that contains fuses and relays, while the FCM contains the electronics controlling the IPM and other functions. The IPM is located in the engine compartment, next to the battery and connects directly to the battery positive via a stud located on top of the unit. The ground connection is via electrical connectors. The IPM provides the primary means of voltage distribution and protection for the entire vehicle.
The molded plastic IPM housing includes a base and cover. The IPM cover is easily opened or removed for service access by unscrewing the cover retaining nut and has a fuse and relay layout map integral to the inside surface of the cover. This IPM housing base and cover are secured in place via bolts to the left front fender support assembly.
Replaceable components of the IPM assembly are broken down into the following components:

  • The Power Distribution Center (PDC)
  • The IPM cover
  • The Front Control Module (FCM)
  • Complete IPM assembly that includes all three parts
All of the current from the battery and the generator output enters the integrated power module via a stud on the top of the module. The integrated power module cover is removed to access the fuses or relays. Internal connections of all of the power distribution center circuits is accomplished by a combination of bus bars and a printed circuit board.

There may be a fault in the control group in the dash--there is a resistor that controls motor speed as well as the speed switch.

A/c why my compressor does notwork turn the shaft and turns freely do not get power to it and donot have fuse box identification for the fuses

first you should know that there is an electromagnetic clutch on the compressor and it is going to appear to be free turning unless there is power to it. Second is a switch that is in line with the power to the clutch and that switch opens and wont let power to the clutch if the Freon is low. Third is the fuse that you may be able to find a diagram for at autozone dot come. Make a free account and then login and put in the year make and model and go browse the free repair guides.

2002 ford mustang air conditioner stopped working. How do I locate the problem?

FIRST I CHECK ALL FUSES AND RELAY.TO BLOWER MOTOR IF IT STOP BLOWING.AND CHECK FUSE TO HVAC SWITCH CONTROL.AND CHECK FUSE / RELAY TO AC COMPRESSOR.IF FUSE / RELAY GOOD POWER GETTING TO AC COMPRESOR CLUTCH COIL AND LOW PRESSURE SIDE 28 PSI AND HIGH SIDE 200 PSI. CLUTCH COIL IS OPEN.IF REFRIGERANT LEVEL LOW YOU MAY NEED MORE REFRIGERANT.YOU NEED AT LEAST 28 PSI ON LOW SIDE AND 200 - 220 PSI ON HIGH SIDE.IF ALL IS GOOD STILL NO AC PROBLEM COULD BE A FAULTY AC CLUTCH CYCLING PRESSURE SWITCH.

1986 chevy S10 has no power (12v) at fuse box on the fuse for ac clutch. checked both sides of fuse to ground 00v. ac/heater fuse 12v both sides (fan) works fine

hello, check all fuses, and relays, make sure wires to ac is not broke or has been pinched, sometimes you can run hot wire from battery, to compressor, touch hot side of plug in on comp wire see if it will kick on, if so sounds like a short, if compressor dont kick on with hot wire run to it, tap the out side of comp clutch and see if it kicks on, these compressors will not kick on any way if they are low on freon, once freon is full it should work.

AC compressor not engaging

Hi, you should never bypass the compresor because it may cause damage to the sistem including the compresor, even if the sistem is charged if it gets a little low it may prevent the cluth to engage to prevent damage ,be sure that you have the proper freon presure.also check the ac relay and the fuse.....good luck
