Chevy Aveo grinding noise from accelerator when A/C is on

Every time my A/C is on and my car is in drive and I press on the accelerator there is a grinding noise that comes from the engine, I can even feel the vibration in the accelerator a little bit when this happens. My a/c compressor has been replaced and it was having this issue before that went out. The grinding only happens when I press on the accelerator from a complete stop. It only grinds for about 1 second after pressing the accelerator then goes away. Again this ONLY happens when the A/C is on, when its off this does not happen.

It will be the ac compressor clutch that slipping when after it has been activated/engaged. This happens when the engine is winding up the compressor clutch is not engaging strong enough and start slipping. However as the engine rpm stabilize on the ac compressor has caught up (same rpm) no slipping occur and no noise. Was the clutch mechanism replaced with the compressor replacement? (however it need to be checked/repaired).

SOURCE: Rattling noise

I have a 98 blazer that makes similar sounds but it's pieces of the dust shield off the rear wheel assembly that got down inside the brake rotor. Only happens when the truck is going forward

Your trouble is most likely not in the transfer case but in the front differential engagement solenoid.

SOURCE: 1998 Chevy Prizm A/C and Cooling Fan Problems

Compressor could not work without cooling fan comming on.
Check compressor mounting bolts and belt placement on pulley regarding the noise.
But before we get to the a/c system repairs its important to have a properly working cooling system.

Is the car overheating ? It should if neither fan works.
If I recall correctly the fan switch is usually on the upper radiator hose coupling.
you may want to test the fan(s) its self. Remove the electical connectors fron the fan(s) , fabricate a set of jumper wires and run it from the battery. If this works the fan(s) are ok . If it doesn't replace the ones that don't work.
The coolant switch aka fan switch is usually tested with an ohmmeter . Use shop manual for testing procedure.
Test the a/c fan and engine cooling fan relays. (see shop manual for details)
Then I would start looking at coolant( correct mixture and thermostat2_bing.gif) although the thermostat is not likely to cause this.
If all of this still doesn't correct the problem it may be the ECU that monitors this system it may not be responding to the signal /voltage from coolant temp sensor to turn on the fan, (again nedd shop manual to test this)
Once you have a properly working cooling systemnow you can turn your focus on the a/c. Compressors either work or they don't.For you safety I recommend having the a/c system serviced by a ASE certified Technician or a tech's who legally can perform a/c service. Good luck

SOURCE: when making a left turn,

OK, you're looking at a CV Joint or Halfshaft that connects to the wheel in question.

1996 Suburban K1500, gear grinding noise on acceleration, 2 wheel high only

Hi Alex W, chevy k1500 A/T box? 4L80? sure 4wd,
get it checked out in a real shop?
we can not do the checks here, nor hear it
we would use and electronics, stethoscope to find
it zero risk to human body.
not told you, will it grind, parked , and makes noise
in all PRNDL selections, 2H mode.
or shift to 4wd neutral does it make noise"
my guess is only moving it makes noise!?
if yes tests can be dangerous to the tech and others.
is transfer case NP208 transfer case?
see this N here/
we can shift to N to see of noise ends.
a loose chain in the box below can make noise for sure using 4wd on dry pavement.

NI is for towing mode, see in the users guide. yours.

Grinding noise from left wheel when driving.what can be the cause?

On the Chevrolet Aveo, I would guess that the bearing on the left wheel is going bad. Replace the hub assembly if this applies.

Chevy aveo 2007 5door, shift handle feels lose, car goes

if its a 5 speed, yes the shifting is loser than normal cars. the reverse is all jacked up.. if its anything like my 06 aveo when you shift into reverse you have to lift the little circle thing on your shifter up ad act like your putting it into first.. If it grinds try doing it slower. I HATE this transmission. Chevy did a horrible job on picking it. I always grind reverse no matter what

1999 Chevy Cavalier When I am driving and turn the steering wheel there is a grinding/chattering noise from the front of the car. Is it the cv joints or the wheel bearings?

If it is wheel bearings the noise would be there all the time with a growing whine as you accelerate, to me I would say the drive shafts {CV joints} need to be replaced. Sorry to bare the bad news, Remember we are here to help as best we can, good luck

"gear grinding" noise on acceleration, 2 wheel high only

This sounds like the famous problem that those ten bolts give, remove the rear differential cover and inspect the oil for metal debris, it's more than likely to be the carrier bearings wornout making the ring and pinion offmesh causing the grinding and will eventually break. Hope this helps
