Did you find the problem, b/c I am having same problem. I started with a radiator flush and it started to heat after 15 minutes of idle. Thermostat did kick in after it got up around 210. But it is not heating until after a lengthy run. I am trying new thermostat next. Am I on the right track, or is it the heater coil?

Blower control

Sounds like a thermostat and/ or the system is low on coolant.
Its probably not going to reach 200 degrees when the outside air temp is below freezing, but you should get plenty of heat if the system is working correctly.

2001 sebring blows hot air then after approx 20 mins blows cold air. Temp gauge inside car only goes up to about 1/4 mark.. any ideas? Had coolant system flushed.

Sounds like maybe a stuck thermostat. or a blocked heater core. Just cause the system was flushed dosent mean the heater core was cleaned out.

Only blows cold air from vents even when temperature gauge set to red for hot air.

Temperature gauge should not be in the red unless you are talking about the temp control. Check hoses to heater core for a temp difference once the vehicle has reached operating temp. If a big differenced is noticed heater core may be plugged and may have to be flushed or replaced. Do the same with radiator hoses could also be a thermostat

Temperature gauge fluctuates and the heater blows cold air

Definitely check your fluid level in your radiator. Top it off all the way. I've seen that happen multiple times on cars that were low on anti-freeze. If that doesn't work try replacing your thermostat. It's cheap and the easiest place to start if topping off the fluid doesn't get you fixed up.

2000 Chevy Silverado 4X4 - Heater isn't blowing hot air

No your thermostat is stuck open which will not hurt the engine. but needs to be replaced, the thermostat is what allows the engine get up to operating temp. before allowing water to flow through the radiator and when it is stuck open it doesnt allow the engine to reach operating temp. so the heater never gets hot. I hope that helps you out.
