Ignition key stuck in 1994 previa van

try and turn your steering wheel a little bit left or right and and the same time try and turn the key when it turns toward the dash then try and turn the key back. try and repeat this several times if neccessary. this should work. please rate this solution. thanks

Hi what is happening is that your turn off your car and left the wheels turned to one side and specially if your car is parke in a hill what you have to do is to force the steering wheel to the same direction of your wheels this will free up the ignition switch it is going to be hard let me tell you but it will work and this is why your shift don't work once you have the ignition switch free then your shift will work again

Try turning the wheel one way and then the other as you turn the key. Sometimes the steering will be force against the lock if turned of in a certain way. Just try to relieve the stress by turning the wheel from side to side. It may require some force but don't stand on it.

the key may be worn badly or the ignition needs to be replaced.

Normally you need to step down on the brake pedal to release the key and shifter.
