2 things if its not above 45 degrees it wont come on , and did u check Freon level with gauge keep in mind while system is off it show a reading like its over filled so shoot some Freon in see if kicks on while engine is running
You dont have enough refrigerant in it. Go to wal-mart and by a recharge hose and a can of freon, If you do not have any leaks, and system is ok. Then by adding the proper amount of freon, should keep the a/c clutch from recycling. Good-Day! It will tell the proper way to fill it on the guage for the freon.
Sort of. If the system is empty, you would need to jumper the low pressure switch to power the ac clutch to put the first can or two of freon in. Keep in mind the system is supposed to be vacuumed out before adding freon, so if it is full of air you won't be able to put the full amount of gas in.
the problem is probably low freon there should be a place on one of the hoses to check the freon level. you can usually get a gage when you buy the freon. if the freon isn't the problem than the problem is probably with the compressor. I would check the freon first.
More they likely, low on freon, will need to do a leak test, to fine out where the leak is at, the reason the a/c compr, shut off, is the low pressure switch cut it off, when low on freon, that way the compr, wont get damage, or you could just keep recharging the a/c system.
The low pressure switch on the a/c line is at fault or you have to little freon in system to make the pressure switch work. The low pressure switch is put in the a/c line to keep you from burning up the a/c compressor. Anytime the freon fall below a certain level (pressure) then the switch will cut out to keep anything from burning up. Hope this will help you.
there is a power distribution box under the hood which under the lid of this box it will tell you which relay is for what .. Also your air conditioner wont come on if its low on freon.. even a little low it has a pressure switch which keeps the clutch from working to protect your system when low on freon.. holler if you need more .. Jerry
the ac system has a low pressure switch when the unit is low on freon the compressor wont work . this is to keep the compressor from burning up. have your freon level checked.
