Wind shield wipers stop in center of window

I was just using the wind shield wipers and they hung up and now they work but stop in the center of the window instead of going all the way down

    2006 Sorento. Wipers all of the sudden decided to "park" in the middle of the windshield instead of in the down position. They work fine but just don't want to stay down when off.

Sounds like a linkage (wiper transmission) problem. But, put an external ground wire to the wiper motor first and see if they work then.
Also many wipers have a fastening nut on the wiper arm where it attaches to the stub that goes through the body. These may have loosened and gone out of adjustment. If so, loosen them and re-position arms, then tighten them down.

If you turn off the key with wipers in mid-cycle, the wipers will stop right where they are. The wipers won't park till the next ignition cycle.

Cannot get the wind shield wiper motor back in the wind shield wiper stops in the middle of the wind shield
this is normally caused by a bad wiper motor or binding of the wiper gears and linkage arms.
check to see if the linkage arms are tight and not loose. also try and lube up the pivot points.
another thing to check is to make sure you have 12 volts to the heater.

1999 vw beetle. blinkers, wind shield wipers not working.
check your ground conections under the dash first. and if they look ok take them apart and clean them anyway, and if the problem is still not fixed look for what all of these systems have in common. i would suspect the grounds though its common on vw problems.
