Hi there:
Check coolant level fluid and test engine temperature sensor; sometimes, when PCM detected this warning signal from ECT (Engine Cooling Temprature) sensor, the engine wont start i order to prevent some damage.

My 1983 toyota ran hot now it wont start

a malfunctioning coolant temperature sensor will often send incorrect information to the vehicle's on-board computer. As a result, when the vehicle reaches a normal operating speed the sensor may relay an incorrect signal to the computer that the engine is overheating resulting in engine shutdown. The vehicle will not be able to start again until the engine has completely cooled. also check coolant level and make sure the coolant radiater fans are working. check for any leak in coolant system, that would cause car to overheat.

Car doesn't run great but it runs. I turn it off and it won't start for a little while. Then it will start again

Make sure your coolant level is full first. Next, change your coolant sensor. It is located near the thermostat housing. When this condition happens 9 out of 10 times it's the coolant sensor malfunction or low coolant level! Good luck!

How do you shut the change oil light off and the coolant light

first the change oil light: turn the key on, do not start. wait ten seconds. fully depress the gas pedal three times rapidly. wait another 10 seconds, and start the car. the light should be out. if not, repeat.

there is no reset for the low coolant light. the light will remain illuminated until the coolant is topped up. if the coolant level is ok, and the light is still on, there is a problem with either the level sensor or the wiring - more likely the sensor. good luck!

Car will start but it wont stay running

Make sure the coolant level is full. After filling it or making sure it's full, see if that solves the problem. If not change the coolant sensor near the end of the upper rad hose close to the thermostat housing. This problem is usually solved by changing this sensor. It is a common problem with dodge products. Good luck!

Low coolant light came on 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette, went out a couple minutes later without adding any coolant. Adding a little anyway after light went out. Now about 1 1/2 weeks later light came on...

If its not low on coolant and the light continues to come on it is the low coolant sensor in the radiator. This sensor is in the plastic side of the radiator and just pops off. These sensors are always a problem and don't always require replacement of the sensor. What happens -especially if you are using red DEX-COOL coolant is that the coolant gets hard and crusty inside the sensor and wont allow the coolant to enter and make contact with the sensor. Simply take the sensor off and blow compressed air or water pressure in it to free it of debris. Easy fix-hope this helps!

I get an intermittent "Coolant Sensor Bad" The FSM is clear, Bad mean the line to the coolant bottle switch is open.

The coolant sensor and the coolant level sensor are two different sensors. Your message center is showing (coolant sensor bad),not level sensor bad.
The level sensor only monitors the amount of coolant in the container
The coolant sensor senses the degrees of the coolant, which turns on the electric cooling fans. Change the coolant sensor, and the problem should go away.
