The electric windows in my 2000 ford taurus are not working along with the drivers door lock and unlock switch, it isnt a fuse that is burned out so what do i do now?

When it first happened the dome light didnt work either, but now it works but the windows at all switches dont work and neither does the door locks and unlock switches work at any of the doors. The lights on the switches work on all doors but the drivers door. There are no burned out fuses, could it be a wire somewhere that is not making a good connection?

You will need to check the wire harness in the driver's door. The main wire is often times broken because3 of the way it was placed.

SOURCE: 1998 Taurus SE warning chime beeps as you get in the driver door

Hi John,

Had a similar problem with my Saturn. Door chime going all the time, the seat belts going up - down - up for no apparent reason.

Turned out to be the switch in the door jamb had become unseated. As it randomly made and broke contact, the cars computer thought the doors were opening and closing, then acted accordingly.

I remounted it with the help of a hot glue gun (plastic mount).

Hope this info helps with your problem.

Best regards
Mike

SOURCE: Door locks on Ford Expedition stuck

Look under your steering wheel right under the dash. There should be a small white strip with 5 numbers. This is your master code for your vehicle. If you bought the car used and they give you a code, they could have made their own code, but the master will override it. If this don't help, the module for the doors may be going bad.

SOURCE: 96 ford explorer power locks or windows not working

On a 96' Ford Explorer XLT (like mine) the code is in the trunk of the truck behind the plastic cover where your tire jack and wrench are! There will be two plastic knobs that you will have to turn to open and lift it off, real simple. The code will be on the fender wall, bring paper and pen to write and will need a flash light so you can see the code clearly.

The code is real close the the plasic and kinda hard to see. Hope this helps! If you dont see the above, then try looking around in that area for a 5 digit code, in the fender well or around the jack, or even around the rear washer bottle. Most people have said its around the jack.

Hope this help (remember comment and rated).

2003 Ford Taurus SE. All my power windows stopped working. They put in several fuses but the fuse keeps shorting out. They said there is a short some place. Can any one help on what it may be?

On a 2003 it is likely to be breaks or damage in the wiring harness that goes from the driver door into the door frame. All the wires from the driver door switch go though there. With constant opening and closing the wires can work harden, wires break, resistance increases and they burn out and short.

The wiring can be tested for shorts.

Why do my interior lights flash when i open the driver door only and also my windows have stopped working as well?

Check if all of the windows (except the drivers window) work from the main switch, and from the window switches on each door. If the windows all work from the doors switches, you have a bad master (main) panel controlling the drivers door window. If the windows don't work from any switch, check for a fuse issue, or a pinched wire in the tube from the door hinge area to the door.

ON MY 2000 TAURUS THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT GO UP (ELECTRIC) DOES EVERY WINDOW HAVE ITS OWN MOTOR?

Yes every window has its own motor, could also be the window switch you push to roll up and down. Sometimes if fluids get spilt they burn out

97 Ford Taurus with wiring problem

The fans are relay controlled, likely problem. Most current demanding componants have relays because a switch circuit would burn out. All your issures are very possibly relay issues. Find the relay bank and chk yhem for overheating, burn out, or plain ole malfunction. Good Luck, -Ned-

2000 explorer power window problems

There is a switch on some cars to lock out the windows to keep your kids from getting caught in them. This switch is a different shape than the others and is on the door or center console.
If you have a keyless entry system with numbers to push to unlock your car, sometimes the door switch forgets the numbers and needs to be reset. If you have a fancier car, the locks may have automatically locked as the car moved and once the door switch forgot the code it may have interferred with normal operation.
