Heater I have a toyota camry 95. the heater blow only cool air, how can i fix it myself.

There is a thermostat in line with the Heating & cooling system of the engine. When the water temperature reaches a determined level, say 240 degrees, the thermostat will open allowing the hot water to travel through a heat ex-changer under your dash board allowing heat inside the car. If this thermostat is sticking closed, it will not allow water to travel to the ex-changer causing cold air to blow. Unless your mechanical ability is fair to good and you have the tools you can change it yourself but even if you take it to a garage it shouldn't be too much to fix. Without knowing what is wrong. Have the guy pay to fix it. that way, no matter what it costs, its not your problem. $3000 is way to much for that old car, find something better.

Sounds like your heater core went out or is plugged, try doing a coolent flush on your system and if that dont work then youll propably have to replace the heater core. Hope this helps

First thing to do would be check the thermostat. Sounds like it may be stuck open and needs replaced. If it sticks in the open position the engine never warms up properly an d will give you little or no heat.

I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING A NEW THERMOSTAT, USUALLY DONT COST MUCH AND WILL FIX THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY

check your thermostat first. They're cheap, so replace first. If it still has the same problem, check hose. Sometimes when they are olf, they collapse inside. If that doesn't help, it could be a heater core bad, or ahead proble. But start with the thermostat. It sounds like a simple fix.

You are losing coolant if you have a coolant pressure tester follow the directions and use it. If you don't when the car is cool use a 50/50 solutuion of water and coolant fill system and check all the listed items carefully with a flash light and look for leaks. It is either a bad hose, cap, water pump or radiator. Your coolant circulates through the dash and the blower blows throught the heater core to produce heat. No coolant no heat. I would also check the passanger side floor for anti freeze or moisture could be a leaking heater core also.
