The fan on my 1999 bug will not shut off

I have 2 problems. 1st: We had to undo the battery in order for the fan to shut off. The fan wouldn't shut off at all. Not sure where to start looking at. Tight on funds and better half not motivated to start fixing my car, so I'm trying to start somewhere on my own and order parts. 2nd: Before fan trouble, we replaced 2 transmission sensors that we were told was bad from shop. And cost was a lot $$. Due to transmission not wanting to shift up or down when going over 40mph, so RPMs were high. Now after fan issue, the same problem occurred with the shifting again. I don't want to take to same shop, so they can keep guessing and charging $$$$. And not fixing it. Please help me. I need some transportation back. I have non right now. Any advice is a start.

SOURCE: Transmission won't shift fron 1st, 2nd or 3rd correctly!

I'm no expert but it sounds as if you might have some moisture (water) contaminating your tranny fluid. I'd first try having it drained, flushed and refilled with fresh fluid. Preferably after it has been warmed to room temperature - -2 brrr.

1998 vw jetta tdi did not shut off

The air plate is not shutting off the air to the intake manifold or you are getting oil into the intake. Check the flap on the end of the intake where the black boot connects to it. You could have a vacuum leak or electronic issue not sur with out looking at it.

My 1999 Toyota 4 Runner wouldn't start recently

You either have a defective battery or the battery cable or cables have acid intrusion that has "wicked" inside the cable and this causes a bad connection, the only fix is to replace the cable or cables, this problem is mostly limited to the positive battery cable because of the current flow direction. So 1st have the battery tested and see what it shows, almost any of the many discount auto parts stores will test the battery for free.

Just bought 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager and it ran good for about 50 miles then it cut off and now won't start. it trys to start and battery seems good.

Have you checked the fuel filter? It may not be getting fuel. Had an experience with this - vehicle was fine but shut it off and it wouldn't start. No problems before but the fuel filter went fast.

For the past 2 weeks, when I try to start my 2003 Nissan Xterra, it seems sluggish, but the engine will turn over. On 2 separate occasions, when attempting to start the engine, it wouldn't turn over ...

Checked Cables how?

Looking & Touching isn't doing anything

You have to do a voltage drop test or remove
& clean the ends. I would do both

Remove the starter & have it tested at parts store,
assuming you don't know how to do a voltage or
current test while cranking.
