1993 nissan maxiam fuel problem ?or is it

Well i have a 1993 nissan maxiam and its runing really lazy so i check the fuel injector and i found out that only one or two was sending fuel to the engine. so i change all the injectors. come to find out that i have the same problem.
i took all the injectors of the holder to find out if it was getting gas and it is getting gas. and it was.so my next question is. could it be the fuel pump not pumping the gas the way it should be. because i look at the way in which the gas is coming and i see that its not as strong as i beleive it should be but i still don,,t want to take the fuel pump apart and have the same problem

When's the the last time the fuel filter was changed? A dirty fuel filter can cause many problems including rough idling, power loss, and stuttering. Replacement usually takes 15 minutes and on most vehicles is something you can do in your driveway. Expect to pay $10 - $20 for a filter. It's good insurance for your new injectors.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, to my knowledge, if it were the fuel pump then all of the injectors would be suffering from the same problem and not only two. Though the low pressure could affect the engine performance, again it would be common to all. Based on this, I am more inclined to suspect the engine management computer. It is responsible for triggering when the injectors will allow fuel to spray into the combustion chamber. Inside the computer box would be individual switching transistors for each of the injector. It is likely that the two for the two "erring" injectors are faulty. One way to check is with the use of a voltmeter. Each injector would have two (2) wires, one is always supplied with +12 when the engine is running, the other would be pulsating in accordance with the RPM. If the pulsating +12 is missing (either always +12 or always 0), then you have just confirmed a faulty computer.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

My 1996 nissan is runing rough

I always check the simple things first, and it has served me well. It could be clogged injectors, put a bottle or two of injector cleaner in your (full) gas tank. Could also be dirty air filter, or combination of the two. Check fuel filter too, I've seen those do a lot of weird things when they get clogged to the point of restricting fuel flow. Good luck

Running rough

Hi, runing rough can be caused by several things, you can start by checking the simple ones first, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, add a good injector cleaner and leave the car runing for some twenty or thirty minutes ,if it dosnt change, you may get the injectors cleaned by a pro shop.....good luck....
