I'm not sure if the Northstar has it anywhere. Just for your info though, the firing order is as follows:
1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8
Fig. 4.6L (VIN 9 and Y) Engines
Firing order: 1- 2- 7- 3- 4- 5- 6- 8
Distributorless ignition system
Hope helped (remember rated this help) Good luck.
what is your question ?
Using wire separators for about $5 from Advance Auto Parts seemed to alleviate the missing problem.
Cylinder 3 seems to have a miss, but it was fixed by spacing out 1 and 3 cylinders, near cylinder one about one inch, and spacing out number 5 cylinder from 1 and 3 near cylinder 5.
The online manual for auto repair had instructions to do the above to preent misfires.
prevent misfires, (not preent).
Apparently the high voltage flowing through the spark plug wires can inductively cause adjacent wires to fire off prematurely.
So, I tried to put spacers to keep cylinder 1 and 3 separate at the number 3 cylinder. And, I put a wire separator at the number 5 cylinder to separate it from wires 1 and 3. This seemed to solve the misfire problem. No more misfires on the history of cylinder #3 and #5 and #7 which showed up on the scanner, previously, after missing a bit.
The manual for the 1997 Cadillac Deville through PA Power Library had a diagram which showed how to space out the wires in order to prevent misfires and damage to the engine.
Rather, cross fires and misfires were prevented by spacing out wires in this way.
