Random engine misfiring- fault code P0300- 1999 cutlass

I have a 1999 custlass that is experiencing random misfiring and displaying code P0300. It started it all at once. I have changed all plugs and plug wires. It seemed to have no effect. Before that it had a faulty O2 sensor but it has been replaced. What should I check next?

Could be coil pack(s), fuel injectors, etc. Rather than retype it, just check out this great article on P0300 random misfire - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0300

I am getting 3 codes, p0300, p0339, and p0700. I have a 2010 Chrysler Sebring, what could these 3 codes mean together?

Crank position sensor fail, random cylinder misfire, and transmission fault.

Have battery and charging system tested. If battery and alternator nominal, then likely the crank position sensor is at fault or crank position sensor wiring.

The transmission fault could be from inconsistent engine RPMs due to severe random misfires.

No tune up done, code read multiple misfire, read again minutes later, mass air flow malfunction then cleaned with no improvment

tune ups are not necessary with ECM engines as it is done every 60 seconds
you have to read the fault codes first and fix what is reported as faulty
check fuel pressure as that is a principle reason for random misfires along with dirty injectors
for the one code fault shown there can be a number of relates sensors that are contributing to the fault
Foe example the code could read p 300 random misfires but the underlying problem is that the EVAP system is not venting the tank properly so ti shows up as a low pressure or pump problem

2007 saturn aura xr code P0300

Check Engine Light On, P0300 Random Misfire Code. A random misfire means your engine is misfiring, but that the problem is not isolated to one or two cylinders. It is jumping around in a random way from one cylinder to another. A random misfire code usually means the air/fuel mixture is running lean. Replace plugs wires and coil packs.Check crank /camshaft position sensors, check MAFS

I have an 05 Suzuki Forenza that has a flashing check engine light. This started on Tuesday. Had the codes looked up. Car is driving shaky and dash lights are blinking. Any ideas?

fix the anti freeze leak --before you blow a head gasket

what your codes mean

Check Engine Light On, P0300 Random Misfire Code. A random misfire means your engine is misfiring, but that the problem is not isolated to one or two cylinders. It is jumping around in a random way from one cylinder to another. A random misfire code usually means the air/fuel mixture is running lean.

What the P0700 code means. P0700 is set when the PCM detects a malfunction in the transmission control system. This malfunction causes the vehicle to set a Check Engine Light and trigger a failsafe mode. Once the failsafe mode is set it will remain until the fault is repaired or normal operation is detected.

I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus with a random misfire on 1,3 and 5. The engine runs fine besides a twitch in the motor that can be felt while idling. Already replaced plugs and wires. Suggestions?

get the OBD codes read this will tell you which switch/sensor is causing the issue , the last random misfire i encountered turned out to be low cylinder compression so if the OBD code says " random misfire " then get the cylinder compressions read , hope this helps

The plugs and crank sensor could have done it, but the TPS and idle air control would have nothing to do with a random miss.
A more likely cause is the ignition module or a fuel problem. You may have to wait until the problem is bad enough to kill the engine or you have more codes to check out.

1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass P0405 EGR Error Code

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire
Technical description:--
Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected:---
Exactly what does this code means:--
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.
Symptoms:--
the engine may be harder to start.the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate.
other symptoms may also be present…There may be rough idle, sputters and stalls and jerks.
Causes:--
A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or wires, Faulty coil (pack), Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s),Burned exhaust valve, Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages, Faulty camshaft position sensor, Defective computer.
Possible solutions for this error problem:--
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the vehicle, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or un-metered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
