If just the inner part is broken, remove both ends of cable, pull out broken parts. Buy a universal repair kit at parts store and follow instructions that come with.

how to flush. is this a verb question or a product? noun?
how to , or asking where to buy flush kit and flushing compounds.
the only new compounds are jug of orange oil, (safe for the environment all the other ones are off the market )
take it to a shop with flash the system. end short story.

the coolant is toxic as heck, kills people pets, etc.
and must be kept out of sewers and storm drains, for sure.

It can be done, kinda clean,
but is super hard at home.
drain rad, drain block , drain both and catch it all and take it the county reclaim, (for toxics) use a large catch pan, to do that.

now flush it with water hose.
the book says back flush all hoses. and the RAD.
pull all major hoses. this is what is done, for 100 years now.
up to NOW (near)
black flush block and heater core and RAD.
now lets ask why do this at all? if not UGLY.

first off if you keep the system serviced, it will never need a flush.

not only that, in the USA we took out the sulfur in fuel.
doing that prevents the coolant from ACID attack.
so the coolant never goes ACID now, like 20 years ago.
so no more 2 year, service, due to that FACT.

it's a 5 year service and cap off shows coolant looks great.
on old cars, anything is possible
and flushes must be done, to cure the UGLY ONEs.

there are 2 flush ways. 1 is poor way and way 2 is ASE.

i will not mention shop way with the $10,000 machine.

1: poor way, open drain bottom rad, run water from rad cap

until drain runs clear. (ok on a 2 year old car. sure)

2 pro way.

he back flushs all cooling system parts and makes sure all flow good.

1: RAD (end to end)

2: HEATER CORE.

3: isc AND iac VALVES AND HOSES

4: THE BYpass hoses are flowing good.

other? sure. depends on engine option (size)



on my cars , IR pyro gun the rad tubes as a last check. (hot)

to be sure all tubes are working... ask.... a $15 tool , like no other.



it a choice,

you need to back flush the system. take the hoses of the rad line to the in side rad. and flush it out. at same time may aswell to the rest of the system get all the muck out of the system. needs to be done evey few years.

Not a single person answered your question, they all told you an answer that didn't relate to your question. Anyways the relays for your fuel pump are under your dash behind the fuse box.

If you have changed the thermostat, could be the water pump needs replacement, especially, if you are overheating still.

Did you have the radiator removed from the vehicle, then flushed, or was it done w/out removing it? If it was done w/out removing it, it was not flushed properly or thoroughly. Regardless of being flushed in or out of the vehicle, the engine block has a drain plug that should be removed, and it too should be flushed. If you had it flushed properly, and the correct amount and mix of coolant replaced, you should be able to drive for at least a couple of years before a coolant change would be needed again, and longer than that before you would see rust in the system. Whoever did the work did a #$(* job. They should provide another complete flush and new coolant for no additional charge, as you already paid for it, and that is not what you got. Once properly flushed to remove all rust and sediment, you should not have any overheating problem. Also note that a plugged up heater core can cause no heat in the passenger compartment.

Remove and raise upper hose at thermostat end and remove lower rad hose.
Fill rad with a hose and watch for flow from bottom rad hose and/ or bottom rad hose connecton.......water should fall though rad easily.
Honda rads are cheap.....any restriction....replace rad.

Remove thermostat....fill thermostat housing with hose and watch for water flow at bottom rad hose.
Flush good.

Remove heater hoses.......flush back and forth until a good flow is present "With heater control set to hot" if no or poor flow....replace heater core.

Stop leak can plug everything.

Also.......not likely causing over heating....but ....at your mileage,if you do not know if the timing belt has been changed.....CHANGE IT NOW!
Water pump is optional at this mileage.

my 93 prelude was doing the exact same thing and for me it was my alternator was working properly.
go to a parts store and have them test it.
