My 2005 Buick Century has a problem with the cigarette lighter. I was using a car vacuum the other day and suddenly there's no power from that lighter. I suspect it may be the lighter fuse is broken, or the lighter itself needs to be replaced. I want to check the fuse first, but do not know where to look at. Could some one point me the location of the fuse? Thanks a lot in advance.

Under your hood is a main relay box. It may be in there, or somewhere near the drivers side door in the dash. Check your owner's manual if you have one, it will lead you to all the fuses your car has.
Hope this helps

How to repair cigarette lighter in car?

(1) it could be a fuse
(2) the contacts could be dirty use a flashlight and look into the hole, is there rust and corrosion? It can be cleaned but you want to disconnect the power first, the other option is to replace it. Some are located where they are easy to replace, others are not worth the effort.

Cigarette lighters not working

Check for power at fuse. If power is there a break in the wire going to cig lighter is broken. If no power than there is a blown fusible link by battery. Check fuses under hood also

I have a 1999 Buick Century. When I plug my GPS power adapter into the cigarette lighter outlet, I blow the fuse. ---Can you suggest a solution? ---How many amps are in that...

Probably a 15 to 20 amps..If you use the cigarette lighter does it also blow the fuse ,you may have a short in the circuit..It should be able to handle the GPS..Dont increase the fuse size, you can cause bigger problems

Where is the fuse or fuses for the cigarette lighter in a 11998 buick century limited

It should be on the passenger side of the glove box. The lighter fuse should be a 20 A fuse.

My dash light went out on my 1990 buick century.

Find your fuse box, read the cover and find the cigarette lighter and match the drawings with the arrangement of the fuses, when you find it, pull it out and check if blown out or open circuit, then replace it with a the same value of amp. ok

My 2002 Buick Century keeps blowing out the 20a fuse for the door locks. This dosn't happen right away but maybe the second or third time I use the remote switch.

The circut is being overloaded.I beleive the cigarette lighter, the power mirrors and maybe the trunk release is connected to this circut. If there are any problems with any of these items the use of the doorlocks will overload it.GM always had problems with their cigarette lighters shorting. If none of these items are faulty.Have the door lock solenoids checked
