It cant make up its mind and it starts lifting at very inopportune times like running 100 down the interstate . here in tn we have some big "bumps" in the road and the rear shifts to either side when you hit them when it decides it wants to air itself up it has actually made the rear tires chirp a few times because of it airing up and making it bouncy
Sounds like the shocks are done. Air lifting shouldn't make it more bouncy - bad shocks do that. Also you should check out the bushings that hold the rear wheels on and in place. If the rear shifts side to side when it bounces is may not only be the shocks are done - rear wheels could be going out of 'alignment' from their normal resting place and 'steering' the rear end from side to side.

I believe it is underneath car just in front of rear axle. There is a connecting linkage to axle so when car rides low the switch engages the compressor.

unplug the cam sensor behind the water pump pulley; see if it starts; if it does, shut off engine; replace both cam and crank sensors because crank sensors go out in these engines
