92 Miata starts, idles but won't run off idle. Stalls when throttle is pushed.

Battery is bad. I will put another battery in and re-check to see if it is a low current problem but I don't think it is. The alternator is providing good voltage to the computer. I will also check fuel flow to the fuel rail. After that I was wondering if MAF or TPS may cause this issue???

Start by repairing the things you know need repairing, and do check for proper fuel pressure, condition of spark plugs, wires, spark, etc..
Then proceed with TPS as it is possible the ECU does not know the throttle is open if the TPS is bad.

If a new battery don't help then it's most likely to be a throttle position sensor

SOURCE: idles up and down...only at low throttle...when I

This can be caused by a few things. Yes it can be a bad TPS however this can be caused by a DIRTY TPS. Get a can of throttle body cleaner and clean the heck out of it. The other thing that it could be would be a camshaft position sensor. Once you clean the heck out of the inside of the throttle body with the cleaner while it is running then that should fix the problem.

SOURCE: What would cause my 92 4.9L to run very rich, idle

OK WHEN YOU CHANG ANY FUEL PUMPS YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE GASKET AS THE OLD GASKET GETS EXPOSED TO THE AIR AND EXPANDS WHICH THEN LETS AIR IN IF THE CAR IS ON PETROL THE PUT IRIDIUM PLUGS IN A BMG AIR FILTER(THIS AIR FILTER IS NON THROW AWAY) THEN THE SPARK PLUG LEADS CHANGE THEM TO 10MM TOP GUN PRO RACE SERIES IGNITION SPARK PLUG LEADS THEN LOOK AT AFTER MARKET COLD AIR INTAKE PUT PRO RACE FUEL ADDITIVE PUT THE WHOLE BOTTEL IN AS THERE COULD BE SMALL PARTICALS IN THE FUEL LINES AND INJECTORS IF ALL THIS SOUNDS OVERBOAD THEN YOU COULD TRY REMOVING THE FUEL IJECTORS AND REPLACE THEM WITH GOOD QUALITY ONES UNFORTIANTLY THESE DAYS THE PETROLS WE PUT IN OUR CAR ARE FULL OF CRASP AND CAN BE VERY ABBRASIVE

SOURCE: 2004 chrysler sebring 3.0 stalls and will not idle. Engine lite came on and scanner said TPS low voltage on one side. I replaced TPS and it temporarily idled ok. Engine light is now off. Runs fine ex

This is where proper diagnosis comes in...as the TPS sensor voltage low because of a failed TPS sensor? Or was the TPS voltage low due to low battery voltage at the control module? Did you bother to check for the proper voltage at the TPS sensor connector before throwing parts at the problem? If the battery voltage goes low, it is NORMAL for the engine to not idle correctly. Low voltage at the control module can cause the computer to lose all of its "learned" data. It will have to "re-learn" how to idle the engine. This can sometimes take a few days. This is exactly WHY I keep telling people to not be disconnecting batteries in an attempt to "clear" computer fault codes.
If your battery has been going dead, you need to properly test and diagnose your battery and charging system. If this system is not working correctly, there is NO WAY your computer network can function correctly. - this MUST be diagnosed and repaired FIRST!

92 SL1 won't idle-wants to die without pushing gas-just put in new plugs

Remove, clean and inspect the idle control valve on the throttle body. These tend to clog up over time, or the stepper motor fails. Check this before anything else.

2002 gmc envoy stalls when turning and slowing down

I am going to assume the check engine light is not on.
I would check the throttle body to see if it needs to be cleaned, and check the idle air control valve to see if it is working. The computer controls idle speed by the amount of air coming into the throttle body.
The ac problem is probably something different such as low freon or a cooling fan problem.

Dodge durango stalls after starting

There may be a fault code or codes stored, though. Have an engine scan done for trouble codes as a first step in diagnosis. If no codes are present, I would start by investigating the idle circuit-clean the throttle body and have the IAC (idle air control) tested for proper operation. Good luck.

I have a 2004 pontiac sunfire with a few problems. First, when I turn the ignition to start the car all I get is a fast-paced clicking sound from the dash area and the engine doesnt even turn over. This...

as fo the idle, there is a IAC ( idle air control to maintain idle. you may have to remove this and clean the carbon out of it, and the intake as well. as for the clicking there are 3 solutions to fix it. battery if it is ok, the solinoid is bad on starter or the starter itself. but it does sound like a bad starter solinoid, because a bad battery will make the same clicking from solinoid. but make sure battery is ok first. when engine is off voltage at battery should be at least 12.6 or better. when running and alternator is ok, it should read about 14.2 to 14.7 if lower then 14 volts alt. is bad. have a very good day !! hope this helps!

2002 Toyota Tundra Stalls

The throttle body needs cleaning. It has some carbon build up, and when the battery went dead the computer lost its learned values, one of which is base throttle position. Now its reset back to factory specs, not accounting for a dirty throttle body. Seen it a million times

2002 Regal - Engine kills right after starting cold.

There are 3 things that cause this, 1st and most common is a dirty idle speed control valve, 2nd is carbon on the back of the intake valves, last but not least is the wrong octane of fuel, if it requires 89 Octane and 91 or 92 is used the engine will stall code.

To clean the dirty idle control valve follow this procedure:
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
