Can't find button under dash to reset/reprogram keyless entry

1997 Subaru Legacy wagon, the button to hold down to reprogram the remote keyless entry is not under the dash at the driver's knee like it is supposed to be. I found the box labelled keyless entry but there's not a button on it to hold down to reprogram the fob.

Check this out - its not like the previous link - the button actually floats around with the wiring.

Set clock

Turn on the keys to 'Acc'. If your Legacy has a CD player, press down and hold on the 'disp' button for one seconds; if not, omit this step.
Push down and hold the 'disp' and 'H' buttons; this helps you to adjust the hour entry. The hours will be incremented by one hour; leave the button when the desired hour entry is set.
Push down and hold the 'disp' and 'M' buttons to adjust the minute entry. Hold down till the desired minutes entry is set and release it.
Turn off the keys to save the set time.

How do i reprogram electronic door locks

Programming Electronic Door Lock Control System NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor (14B001) erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) from memory when the keyless entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters in memory.

  • To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitter into the electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:
  1. Turn ignition switch to the RUN position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector taped to the wire assembly and located behind the glove compartment. All doors should lock and then unlock. Remove shorting pin.
  1. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitter. All doors should lock and then unlock to verify the keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter).
  1. Repeat the above step to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the electronic door lock control processor (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters maximum).
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock and then unlock.
  1. Check operation.

1997 Subaru Impreza wagon. Just replaced battery and hazard lights are blinking whether ignition is on or off. Tried turning hazards on and off and that didn't stop it. Only removing battery stops it. ...

Under your dash by steering column,by your left knee, is a small 4" x4" box that has a small wire attached. On the end of the wire is a small button. Push the button with the ignition in the on position. It will reset the alarm system. That will stop your lights from flashing. Have a great day.
